Magazines--Help!! Need Reccomendations Please!

I'm going to get SO a subscription to a magazine for X-Mas. I just think that it's something that will be good all year, and I got a free subscription last year to Organic Style, and it opened my eyes to a lot that I didn't know. Kermit was right. It's not easy being Green.

So, I want to know what mags your guys like? My SO is into music, but he's so picky that it would be hard to find something that he would really read. Is there one out there that would be fun to get him?

I love YES! Magazine. I learn many new things from each issue.

I got my SO a subscription Green Money Journal last year.

I'm a fan of Utne Reader - learn about 50 new things with each issue, and there usually is a good music section too.

Yep, that's the one I was going to suggest. Love it. Also, in Utne there is an ad for a subscription CD (6 bimonthly) called InRadio. It is advertised as being full of cutting edge music, commentary and spoken word . . . the best independent music and ideas that you won't find on mainstream airwaves. I gave a subscription to a music loving friend for Christmas last year, but I never asked if he liked it. Check it out . . . www.inradio.com

Try getting them - Stay Free. A great analysis of media, pop culture, pranks, etc. It is quite a good pie in the face of all things stodgy and fluffy in this culture, in a serious and academic kind of way.

i'm not sure what type of music your SO is into, but Punk Planet is a cool magazine
