OMG, the apartment complex that I grew up in (which was really like it's own village in some ways) had a bet over this song. We had a record of it and one group of us thought the lyrics went one way and another group of us thought it went another. I cannot remember what part of the song it was we were debating, but it seems like it was around the "It's a choice were making..." part. Too funny.

That part of the song that goes, "it's true we'll make a better day"... when they were recording the song, some of the singers kept saying "brighter day", even though they were constantly being corrected during rehearsals.

They never re-recorded it, so you can actually hear both words.

We did this song in 3rd grade for a show in school, and I got to be Cyndi Lauper. We also used sign language for the chorus. We rocked!
