I'm not sure I've posted in these updates yet... I can't remember.

Well, I'm 18 weeks today! We get to find out the gender in two weeks and two days! I've got my 20 week appointment 2 weeks from today. Um, what else. I'm doing good. I've had some bad headaches for the past two or three weeks, but they've gone away in the last 2 days.

I'm busy knitting (a blanket for dd's waldorf type doll- a Christmas gift) while I'm listing things on ebay and the TP right now so I can get some $ for Christmas stuff. I'm all for multitasking right now! Its really funny, right around this time when I was pg with Anna I started cleaning, redecorating (like a crazy woman) and harrassing my DH to finish remodeling projects...I'm doing the SAME EXACT THING! I guess I'm just an early nester! We painted our kitchen a gorgeous cranberry color this weekend (3 coats- UGH!) and I've been knitting up a storm. I've got millions of things I want to do before Christmas and then also millions of things to do before the baby comes...so I probably should spend less time on here! : I feel bad for my poor DH its only going to get worse before it will get better! I've got a midwife appt this afternoon, I'm hoping it goes well. The baby (I am having a hard time calling him by his name, did the same thing with Anna until she was actually born) is kicking around in there really hard now! My DH has actually felt a few kicks, and I'm feeling a few kicks in my cervix as I am typing right now.

I'm having such a hard time keeping up on these threads! Hopefully after Christmas I will have more time to keep up. Hope you are all doing wonderfully!

I'm 18 weeks and 4 days. My ultrasound is next Monday and I am sooo excited!!! I've had some bh and finally not negative on my weight anymore. Yeah. Thats about it for me today

I will read posts later... I'm on the run but wanted to post my update...

Well, even if we HAD wanted to (MUCH to my mother's disappointment! LOL) we would not have been able to find out the sex today as the baby was face down and only turned partly to its side while she was taking measurements! (We did see it's bottom sticking up!! LOL) I knew that my actual due date wasn't going to be April 24th like my last period dictated, due to that fact that I know I O a week later then the "normal" that they go by... So I figuered my due date to be about May 1st... Which is 8 days off... Well, the baby measures at 16w6d which would be exactly the 8 days off (as I am 18w today according to my LMP)! LOL HOWEVER, the tech said my due date was May 9th!! That is NOT right! It doesn't add up! If I am 16w6w but my LMP says 18 weeks, that is one week off... NOT 17 whole days! So I am just going to go by a May 1st due date!! LOL The tech kept telling me that I should have waited to come in and have my u/s done. She said I was there too early. But my u/s with Katelyn was at 17w2d and the tech then didn't have a problem! Wonder why this one did??

Anyway, since the baby didn't cooperate very much, we didn't get a good profile shot... (the baby WAS moving all over, though - just in the wrong directions! Ha ha) But I got a "body" shot... As soon as I can figure out how to work my FIL's scanner, I will put it in my album!

PS DH didn't go with me... But after it was over, I called him and the first thing I said to him was, "Well, it's a boy!" There was DEAD silence onthe other line... Then he said (in an angry voice) "I thought we weren't finding out! I guess I should have gone with you!" THen I told him I was just kidding and we couldn't have found out even if we had wanted to!! LOL He wasn't amused! Ha ha Oh well! He should have come with me! LOL (I am SO evil!! HAHAHAHAHAHA )

20weeks I can't belive how fast this pregnancy is going! Baby is kicking up a storm and I LOVE it I saw my osteopath friday and has an adjustment and I feel fantastic, loads more energy and no pain

I'm also having a hard time keeping up on these threads lately what with planning for christmas and getting all the little jobs I keep creating done Only 3 weeks and then DH has nearly 2 weeks off work, ds and I are both so excited

I had my MW appointment this morning... I'm 22 weeks, but measuring 23 weeks. Everything looks good. I only gained 1 lb, 9 lbs total so far.

I really needed to talk about not being induced again. B/c they are hospital midwives, if I go to 42 weeks they would encourage/push me to be induced. BUT as she said, they don't WANT to induce me, and will work with me starting at 36 weeks to prepare for labor (I did NOTHING last time.) I'm going to get my medical records to them so they can see what happened, that the baby was fine, the placenta looked like a 39 week placenta, that I had NO PROBLEM birthing a 9 lb 5 oz baby since I have a roomy pelvis, so a "big baby" is not to be feared.

*sigh* Why is it such a fight to be "allowed" to go into labor on my own? I'm praying and hoping it will be different this time. *I* know my body can do it, given time!

Oh, has anyone here refused an "elective" induction for a post-date baby in a hospital birth? Also, is anyone going to start a support thread for mama's hoping for natural, minimal-intervention hospital births, or am I the only one?

Hi everyone!

I am 19 weeks now and the baby has been moving around a bit, but I only notice it mostly when I am sitting still or laying down. I haven't been keeping up with the threads much either. In fact, I didn't post the last two weeks - too busy.

I have been knitting up a storm, too. I made a little dress for my DD to wear on Thanksgiving. It was lovely - dark rose colored with a large cable down the front. I also knit myself a purse and have started DH's sweater. I hope to finish it before Christmas. He wore his scarf from last year today and it made me feel good. I love to make things for my family - to wrap them in warmth and love.

I have been spending more time in the kitchen now that the morning sickness has passed. I made and canned some apple butter last week and made rolls and hummus for Thanksgiving. I also made a pumpkin pie on Saturday and whipped up some whipping cream for it. This made my DH happy, as my SIL didn't make pumpkin pie for dessert Thanksgiving night.

We are having an ultrasound next Monday but we don't want to find out what the gender is. However, I have a STRONG feeling that the baby is a boy. I have even slipped and called it a "he" a few times. We have nicknamed it Trumpet, after the suggestion of my DD who REALLY wants to call the baby Trumpet. It is a little better than her last suggestion, which was "Sparkelina" for a girl. She is too funny.

OK. I am a TARD! I guess the u/s and due date WOULD be right! I am 19w today instaed of 18w according to my last period.... I am dumb! LOL So I guess I AM only 16w6d and my due date is May 9th... But I will stay here and not move to the May board... My DD was due on May 5th and she came in April, so I am thinking...

Well things are going great here. Don't even ask me how many weeks I am, I always forget. Due April 15th so what would that be 19 or 20 wks. How horrible is that. I don't have another MW appt until the 12th of Dec. But we did decide to schedule an ultrasound and it is on the 5th. I cannot wait. We are definately finding out what this one is. DH want a boy (of course) I am happy with either but little girl clothes are so cute. We all ready have one of each so it does not really matter. I am finally over a horrible cold!!! And have ALL of the Christmas shopping done for the kids. I still need to make the cards and yearly newsletter though. I am really showing now and finally had to go all maternity. My belly would hang out from under my shirts, not to attractive.

I am 18 weeks and 1 day. We are getting really excited about our up-coming u/s in 9 days. Dh will have just gotten back from being out to sea for a week. My mom is visiting us right now keeping us company while my dh travels. He was away last week in Guam. This pregnancy is just flying by, and with no complications I couldn't ask for a better pregnancy.

Kerri- The call to dh sounds like something I would have done especially if dh had missed the u/s.

I don't have a lot of time to knit, but sometimes I get in the mood and I can't be stopped. I haven't knit much but a multicolored scarf I've been working on a year or so. I knit the scarf when I feel brainless. And a few weeks back, I started knitting baby bootees from Zoe Mellor's bootee book. I did 3 bootees. I'm currently on a search for the best bootee, which means I will probably knit only one bootee of each bootee in the book. I will probably never make a full pair. They are really cute though!

I should post another picture soon. I've almost lost my belly button. And my tummy's starting to look weird. It's red and white splotchy and probably on the way to veiny. :

I haven't, but my sister has. My younger niece was born at 43w (iirc) in the hospital, though just barely; they actually called my sister a cab about 20 mintues before my niece was born because they were sure that she wasn't in labor at all.

I found out Friday that there was a slight dialation in the renal pelvis and calyces of my baby, but after doing a day of research and asking about it in the pregnancy forum here I'm feeling okay about it, we'll just keep an eye on it and go back for another u/s as recommended to see if we need to have u/s done on the baby after birth. Baby is getting very active, even while I'm on transportation or moving around, which DS didn't do as much.


Today's been a rough day, not for me personally but for people I know IRL and online.

My friend at work who I had lent a lot of books too and cheered along in her plans for a natural hospital birth ended up much like me-- SROM, pit, c/s, although hers was for FTP rather than "nonreassuring heartrate" but it's all the same. She's pretty sad and a bit traumatized and so am I for her.

Then in the afternoon I find out on a VBAC list I'm on that a woman there who's gone through an incredible struggle caring for her son with cp this past year, a total inspiration as a mother I have to say, was just starting to see new improvements in him and then this morning he passed away in his sleep (he was just over 1). At that point I just started crying over my computer.

This is the first time posting on this thread. I'm 22 + weeks. We just told our families over Thanksgiving that I'm pregnant with #4. Plus we just found out it is a girl. After three boys, I'm pregnant with a GIRL. I just can't blieve it. So strange. I've gained over 20 pounds and feel so huge because I am all belly. I read so much about people loosing weight or only gaining a few pounds by this point. I'm slightly paranoid. Anyway, baby kicking up a storm and still head up. When do you have to worry about a baby not being head down? Well enough babbling. Thanks.

I haven't updated in awhile - too busy I guess. I'm almost 21 weeks now and feeling really good, although I've been real hormonal (i.e. bitchy) the last couple of days with the kids. Dh has been away at work and that never helps the situation. Anyway, my house is finally looking clean on a regular basis again which is so nice b/c I'm very anal about things being in their place and feel generally discontent when the house is a mess. So psychologically it's been an improvement for me. Even got the girls to clean up their toys every evening before bed (which I never even tried to do in the past). I'm a bit pissy that I'm awake - and have been awake - since about 2:30am. My older dd showed up in our bed, which is not at all uncommon, but she was all whiny and was waking younger dd (and me) up. Dh was just complaining to me earlier in the day how we'd "have to do something" about them sleeping in our bed soon b/c it wasn't going to work with the new baby. And I was saying that it wasn't going to work (trying to move them out), would be more trouble than it's worth, etc. Well when she shows up (and on his side) and is all whiny and waking us all up, does he take her out of the room? No. So I get all bitchy and tell him to get her out. Not exactly the good nurturing mothering side of me. But I was tired and she woke up my other dd which is always the last straw for me. So he took her back to bed & layed down with her and I've been awake ever since. Ugh - sorry for the vent - I'm just annoyed.
Anyway, in the baby news updates - my belly is just pretty huge and poking out of all my clothes even though they're all maternity. Don't have a clue what I'm going to wear in the last trimester. Baby is moving all over the place and I can even see the movement real well at times if I lay down and watch my belly (like a fireworks show or something - it's pretty cool). I've been able to feel what I think is the baby's back on a few occassions. So everything in that respect seems to be going well. I'm looking forward to my next mw appt b/c dh will be there this time and should be able to hear the hb for the first time. That's about it for me! Guess I'll attempt to go back to bed for a bit.
