I don't think your son would be upset by Uncle Wiggily. They are very gentle.

Namaste!

What is the best source to get adult books/nonfiction books on tape?

We love books/Cds on tape. We listen to a couple of books a week, at least. (In addition to reading other books on our own). Last yr, we listened to all of the Narnia books and my dd knit scarves for our entire family for Christmas (about 18 scarves). This month we've listend to Karen Cushman books. We are more music people in the car. Although my little one likes short books; Caps For Sale and the like. But nothing too meaty unless it's a long ride.

We usually sit on the sofa with knitting, or something else quiet as as we listen. Sometimes my kids like to follow along in the book, sometimes they draw (images from the book).

We listen to all sorts of music , esp jazz.

We own a number of CDs & books on tape (from everywhere- amazon, ebay, chinaberry, yard sales, saver's etc) , but we get the bulk of them at the library, and we have a fabulous & free inter library loan program. I can get most anything through the library.

What UUMom said has been true for us as well. And we have also made suggestions to our local library about titles to purchase-and they did!
So start at your local library first

Hi. My name is Sienna. I am simple living mama's 8, just about 9, year oid daughter. The best book on tapes I've listened to are Harry Potter and Dragon Rider read by handsom Brendon Fraiser. My mom and dad tricked my brother and I and told us we were going to the local store to buy pumkin seeds. Well, six hours later we visited 3 small towns and had a great time listening to dragon rider. It was so great. Bye! Sienna : : :
