Nursing anyone?

I am still nursing our soon to be one year old. Before I found out I was pregnant I had planned to start weaning in february after our short lived winter here.

I am going to spend sometime doing some research before I make a decision but was wondering if anyone else was still nursing?

Yup, I am still nursing my 3.5 yo dd...she only nurses once a day, sometimes even skips a day or 2. I am hoping to have her weaned in the next few months...I am ready and this is a good excuse. Of course, there is no reason to wean during pg if you aren't ready! :-)

I am in the same boat you are. My daughter will be one soon and I just found out I was pregos. I was concerned that the baby gorowing inside and Layla would not get enough nutriention if I kept breastfeeding, but I did do some research and I found out that it wont matter. I am still trying to ween Layla, she was only down to three feedings a day, but now she wants it all the time. I think she knows whats going on! I am going to let her nurse as much as she likes but not at night...thats going to be tough but I think that it will be for the best. Good Luck

I'm still nursing my 2.5 yo. I nursed my first ds through my second pg. and tandemed for 7 mo. I am ready for ds to wean though. I have no clue to even begin the process. it seems like he's nursing all the time now. he keeps saying "no more milk", so i think that the pregnancy might be affecting my supply already.

yup, I'm still nursing my 26 month old. She nurses ALL the time. I am really hoping this pregnancy can help her along in weaning naturally. I don't push her or set too many limits but I really don't think I'll be able to tandem nurse with a three yr old! PLus I'd like some time, even if brief, of no nursing.

also, I'm so sick of wearing nursing bras!! I've been wearing the things for almost 5 yrs. now and I was just thinking how nice it was going to be to not have to wear them anymore. then I found out that i'm pg. again and now there is no end in sight for me.

Yep, still goin strong!! I'm nursing ds - 2 1/2, and nursed dd throughout pregnancy with ds, tandem nursed until dd self weaned at 4yrs 4mos. He is still nursing sometimes several times daily, sometimes once or twice daily. It all depends what our day is made of .
I imagine I will tandem nurse again and plan to nurse him till he decides to wean on his own . I am looking forward to nursing a newborn babe again.

Sure am!I tandemned my first two until dd1 was three. I suspect we'll do it again as dd2 is 17 months old.

I'm nursing a 28 month old & just found out that I am pg again. I nursed my 1st DD throughout pg & weaned her at 27 months b/c it was too much for me. I tandemed for 3 months only (a bit disappointed in myself!). 2nd DD is not ready to wean, but I hope she will do so when milk supply goes down. She nurses round the clock! I at least would like her to let up a bit & let me sleep through the night!

At the rate I am going, I'll have nursed for at least 7 years straight by the time I'm done!

Blessings!

Yup, still nursing 35mo DD

Yes, my DD2 just turned 3 yesterday and we're still nursing in the AM and PM, and still occasionally in the night I'm not sore yet, but feeling a little tender. We've been limiting the amount of *time* she nurses on occasion and that preserves my sanity. I'm hoping that she'll self-wean when my supply drops in week 20-22, but that's probably wishful thinking!

I'm nursing my 18mo ds and just found out I'm pregnant today. I'm okay with tandem nursing, but would also be okay if he decided to wean during this pregnancy. He's still nursing A LOT though, so I doubt he'll wean. He's just not that regular about eating food yet.

I'm still nursing 16 month dd - some days all the time, sometimes only 2-3 times. Before I found out I was pregnant, I thought I might get to wear some normal bras again - but I guess I should just invest in some more nursing ones - since I can't see the end in sight! I will tandem if dd is still nursing - not going to wean her unless she wants too - besides, I think it might make it easier to accept the new baby if they both are nursing...

I'm not nursing this time around, but I nursed all through my last pregnancy. Ds was just over 2 when I gave birth. It actually went pretty well, but the first trimester or so was pretty rough. I really thought he might wean himself towards the end since there wasn't much there anymore. He had cut down to just a couple times a day. Once the baby was born and my milk came back, he pick right back up though. I tandem nursed for just over a year, which really wasn't a big deal either. But I had to set some limits. Like only one at a time. Stimulation overload otherwise.

Still nursing my 25 month old who is clearly addicted and won't wean until college. I also think it might be a smoother transition if he can still have his nursies. Also, he's already familiar with "sharing" his nursies -- we nurse the stuffed animals, the musical instruments, books, trucks, etc.

My poor Bravado bras are on their last straps. I'm afraid I'm going to have to break down and buy some new ones.

I am nursing my 15 month old dd. She is pretty much in love with her nursies and I don't see weaning in our near future. I tandemed #2 and #3 so it is no big deal. However, I am getting really sick of all-night nursing. Before this babe is born, Thea will probably be sleeping with dh in a different room.

I've got a 28 mo nursaholic! We've been trying off & on to nightwean and I think it may just be time... I'm really going to need my sleep! My nips are already really tender, so hopefully we can get this little issue of her using her teeth nipped in the bud. We've been working on setting nursing limits for the past 3 months & I'm seeing some progress... so hopefully we can keep up a positive nursing relationship!

(I am hoping she'll self wean, tho... )

Still nursing my 3.5 year old sweetie. He is down to only nap and bedtime though so no biggie.

My dd is only a little over a year and nurses constantly! I know some kids wean during pregnancy, but I just can't imagine that.

I'm already nervous for my poor nipples!
