Nursing anyone? - Page 2

I'm still nursing my 25 mo DD. She nurses ~3x a day and lately it seems like ALL NIGHT. It's really starting to bug me b/c I can't really sleep thru it for some reason...she just attacks me....think maybe it's b/c my supply is so low. Poor little thing. Sometimes I tell her they're resting and she has to wait, and she sits up and just BAWLS. So I usually end up giving in. But I'm so wiped...something will need to change soon. I can't believe I'm feeling this pregnancy already...so early. I guess I don't really remember what it was like last time.

I am still BF'ing my 10 month old ds and plan to tandem when the next arrives. My dd was 30 months when she weaned after my first trimester pregnant with Connor. My boobs also feel like they been around town for the longest time. I am pretty sure the pancakes would fall down to my ankles if I didn't have them wrapped up in a bra. I invested in a few new bras before Connor came along and am treating myself to more after baby#4 shows up.

Still nursing my ds who is a little over 2.5 y/o. Nursing 3x a day, not too bad. I hope he is still nursing when the new little one comes along, I have several friends tandeming thier kids, and I see how much it helps. But he'll be almost 3.5 so I don't know if he'll last that long. We'll see!

tandem nursing

My 3 year old just weaned, and my almost 2 year old is still nursing. I'm sure he'll continue through the pregnancy, and probably for a little while after, but you never know. Since I've done it before, I'm sure I can do it again! And it's nice that I have a midwife who's been there too.

maternity clothes

I've never had any luck when I've searched, but I wish somebody would make maternity clothing for nursing mothers!!!!

I'm nursing and just found out I'm pregnant. I was thinking I'd wean around 18 months. I'm ok if she starts to wean when the colostrum starts coming (she'll be 15 or 16 months) but only if she's doing it on her own. I'm somewhat conflicted because I wouldn't have minded making it to 2 but not much further...but I'm really, really not sure how I feel about tandem nursing.

Right now I think it will just work itself out and we will do what feels right for all of us.

I'm still nursing my little Catherine but already my milk supply has dropped .My poor baby I hope to tandem nurse as the baby is due a day after catherines 1st b-day and she will still be such a baby herself .I have had to supplement with a bottle of goats milk formula a day which is hard for me as my other two never even drank out of a bottle.

supply

3ncountin - Have you tried More Milk Two? It's an herbal tincture that safely increases milk supply while pregnant.

Haven't tried it but it certainly looks like I'll be making a extra trip to our health food store. THanks sfor the advice . I'm kinda feeling a bit lost with this pregnancy as its still hard for me to accept that me the co-sleeping ,on demand ,exclusive breastfeeding mama to Catherine got pregnant when she was only 3 mo old . Kinda feeling exhausted kwim?

ditto

I hear you. My Ryan was 5 1/2 months old when I got pregnant with my second. It was difficult, the first year was really hard, but 2 years later it's lots of fun! I wonder how I got pregnant with this one too, we were being so careful with NFP. I figure I either ovulated twice or the sperm outfitted themselves with survival gear! LOL!
It is harder with a 3 month old. At least at 6 months old I felt relieved that I could offer some solid food too.

At 2.5 we're still nursing too. I thought he might wean by now, but by the looks of it no. We were down to 3x a day but he seems to want it more now and I feel reluctant to give ds more mimi (as he calls it). I guess I'm just afraid that something will happen even though I know bfing it fine.

Hey, jessica (and everyone else)! I'm finally, slowly venturing over here, and I feel the same way. I know bf'ing isn't supposed to increase the risk of m/c, and if I believed that obviously I would be thinking of weaning, which I'm not. Still, though, I can't help but worry.
Also, it really really hurts most of the time right now, so that's another reason for me to want to lay low a bit. Although, I'd really love to tandem
I guess we'll see how it goes.

I'm newly pregnant and decided to continue nursing my 18month old. She nurses three times a day. The increased protein that I'm eating actually has made my supply go up in the last two weeks since discovering I'm pregnant! Right now, I can't imagine weaning her. There isn't any pain and the supply is good, she loves it....what more reason do you need?

Gabry I'm happy to see you here!

It's great to see some familiar faces over here mimi! & gabry!

Okay, so.... nursing is getting really painful on it's own & dd is using her teeth a lot. I'm getting a little resentful when she starts biting me. I always give her a warning, like "be gentle" & "no teeth", then tell her she'll lose her nursies if she can't be gentle & then stop her. I'm frustrated so I don't know that I'm reacting in the most positive way.

While I feel so much closer to dd in other ways since learning I'm pg, our nursing relationship is becoming so strained.

I've always assumed that if I got pg she would self-wean and was okay w/that, it seems that otherwise she'd be in grade school before she self-weaned. But now I really hope to be able to tandem because I think it will help tremendously w/the transition of having a new baby in the house. And then still on top of that I don't know how much of this biting/pregnancy related tenderness I can take!
I'm so conflicted! Anyone going through similar stuff?

I think it's so great that there are so many of us *here*... we're doing such a great thing for our little ones, hope we can learn from eachother & get through this in the most positive way!

Blessings, everyone! Kelly
