Thermal shades that are manufactured are big dollars, from what I understand.

If you're at all comfy with a sewing machine try this

That way you can design them yourself. Otherwise I guess most of those Bed Bath and Beyond, JCPenney etc places have them.

The key is having a vapor barrier with insulation: so for mine I use an old polyester quilted bedspread, and then a trash bag. Then you can cover the whole thing with your material of choice.

Not sure if that's at all what you're looking for, but good luck!

Cellular, "honeycomb" type blinds are designed to be very insulating. Hunter-douglas www.hunterdouglas.com and Levolor www.levolor.com brands both have versions of this type of blind. They also come in varying degrees of light control from sheer to opaque.

I want some, myself.

I made so me blinds with the Warm Window insulating material. I used a coupon for 40% off at Hancock fabric, and bargain fabric for the outer inside the living room fabric. The little pulley were the $ part. Total cost was about 60.00 for 3 long window and 2 short windows. It was easy to sew. Makes the living roo so much more comfortable to sit in in the evening.
