Got names? - Page 3

If it is a girl:
Ashley (after my sister) Lynn (family middle name) and we would call her Ashlynn
If it is a boy:
John Samuel Jr. (my husband is set on a junior...I'm not sure I could handle two of him
I personally like John Alexander and call him Alex

We like a lot of girl names but are leaning towards Eliza or Cora. A boy will probably be called Hyrum.

boy: Jefferson Carter, but i would like to call him carter, cuz i don't like the name jeff...and i know everyone would call him that...if its a boy, he'll definetly be a J.C after dh's grandfather

girl: Kameryn, maybe Elizabeth for a middle name..still searching

everyone's picked such beautiful names...i like unusual ones...i mean, im a kelly smith, both maiden and married "smith" so i want neat names for my kids!!

Kate, I love your DD's name! And your choice for a boys name is my DH's first name and last name (but add an S)

I love the name Natalie and think that flows well with Caroline. The next choice would be Gabrielle, but that seems frou-frou compared to Caroline. I like your name choices!

As for us, we have no idea on names. We didn't name our children until they were a couple days old, but we had a good idea on what we wanted to name them. We are pretty clueless this time around.

I noticed a few people thinking of naming first names but calling the child by the middle name. If my DH were here he'd say NO! STOP! Because his name is Andrew Anthony but from birth his parents called him Tony (middle name). It's caused him such problems his whole life, from bank accounts to checks to work phone calls.... he really wishes they'd just have named him Anthony Andrew!

We have chosen Finnegan (Finn) for a boy but for a girl we can't decide. I like Quinn for a girl and we like another name for the meaning, but not necessarily the name......girls names are harder then I thought.

I'll have to use that in my argument with dh against giving a Hebrew forst name, English second name and going by the English name. I say but the names how they sound best and call them by their first.

We're pretty set on a girl's name (Zoey Jean) but I would like to have a back up girls name ... you know? Something we like equally well but just in case the baby doesn't seem like a "Zoey"

But, as far as boys names ... oh, we've got nothing. Dh and I cannot agree on anything! It has gotten quite comical, actually. We went to the library last night and checked out big thick book of baby names ... still no luck so far, but we'll keep thumbing through.

Dh has actually been teasing me by suggesting weird names from either Star Wars or Harry Potter. J overheard us last night and said, "I don't know what a Kingsley is, but I do NOT think we should name the baby that!" : LOL!

I keep threatening to pull the "I'm the mama, I get final say" card

We are still working on the girls name but for the most part have the boys name set (DH is PRAYING its a boy)
This is what we have so far

Harrison Drake if its a boy....this is more of less set. My DD is thrilled we will have a HArry because she LOVES harry potter

Julia/Julianne/Julianna Olivia if its a girl

I like Julia a lot...but really like Julianne but not the nickname Julie..and Julianna I like as well but it sounds kinda spanish or foreign and different then my other girls names. BUt now my mom is pulling she doesnt like the Julianna Olivia that it has too many "A's". Ugg I can never please that woman. Sooo who knows, hopefully we find out the sex next weekend and can move on from there. But then Im sure the name will change a million times as well since so far Julia and variations is the only one we have found we both like thus far.

Ugg decisions decisions!

We're not discussing names with our families . . . but here is ok.

With our first, we decided that a girl would be Qualia (and she is) unless she told us differently when she was born, and a boy would be Sebastian. We sort of discussed middle names before Qualia was born, but didn't decide anything until our doula asked for her middle name and we looked at each other and said, "Well, huh. . . . we talked about Evelyn, right? OK, that sounds right for her."

So we're keeping Sebastian for a boy and brainstorming again on a couple more boy names, just to see if we find something we like better, and on some more girl names. I've always liked Welsh names, and dh likes sci-fi/fantasy names, so any kids of ours are lucky to come out with a vaguely normal-sounding name.

I have names I like, Dh hasn't agreed to anything yet. Our last name really makes it difficult to pick names. I keep changing my mind on girls names, but I have had this boys name in mind for years.

girl: Kaitlyn Alexandra
boy: Maddox James

I LOVE the name Maddox for a boy or girl.If my husband wasn't so set on Sulley,I would want to name a son Maddox.I have been thinking about the name for a girl.

My neighbor has two daughters..Katelyn and Alyssa. Remember the show "Kate and Allie"?? I think they sound so nice together!

So I think our list is FINALLY short enough to post.

Boy: Nicholas Scott (Scott is dh's name and i think it flows well)

Girl: Gabriella Faith (Gabby or Gabi)
Ava Hope
Mila Faith/Hope
Liliana Faith (Lily - although I am not excited about it's popularity)
*** would be happy to have some input on the grils names***
post #57 of 72
Nichole -- Is Mila pronounced "MEE-LAH" or "MEYE-LAH" or "MILLA"? I was thinking the last way, like Mila Jojovich. I really like that name. I also like Ava but it's really popular now. I know two baby Ava's born in the past 3 months. DH and I like that one as well. I also love Gabriella. You pick good names!
AugustineM - thanks! It is so hard to pick names especially when you already have children. I was thinking Mila like "mee-lah." And although I do not know any Ava's, I do know that it is becoming more popular, which I try to avoid (although when I picked Isabella and Sophia, dd's names, they were not popular either). It is so hard! I guess tomorrow will tell us if we need to continue to try to figure out a girls name or not. Would still love input though!
