Female Warriors in the movies - Page 2

Egads, I forgot two of my favorites!

Charlie's Angels ( but I do love watching them kick butt! I even own the sequel... I have a bit of a Drew Barrymore crush) and Underworld!
I came back to post Underworld. Glad to see someone else loves that movie. I saw the preview for the 2nd one.
Underworld is one of my 6 year olds favorite movies

We just saw Aeon Flux. Not a very good movie but it is a girl kicks butt type movie.

Thanks candipooh.

I think that's darned fine. I liked Buffy, and I can get into the vampire thing. I don't heart vampires, but I like pretty action movies with hard women... It looked interesting enough.

One of the reviews I read said, "Charlize Theron has her Oscar. Now she has her Catwoman." OUCH. I probably won't see it now. And we were thinking about going to see it, too.

But it does remind me of all those kick-ass Milla Jovovitch movies: Fifth Element (I kinda liked that one, actually... it's not great, but it's not extremely awful), The Messenger, and Resident Evil 1 and 2. I haven't seen The Messenger or either of the RE movies, but my DH saw part of RE 1 on TV and didn't change the channel, so it's probably somewhat OK. I just don't like zombies.

Underworld also has werewolves (tho they call them something else -- Licans, however that's spelled). I don't have a problem with vampires but I'm a little put off by werewolves sometimes. Not the ones in Underworld, obviously (I own it) but sometimes they can be too gruesome/ scary for me.

I love this thread We were watching Independence Day (ID4) last night and I kept thinking, "where are all the warrior women?" It didn't help that my DH, who I did not tell about this thread, kept adding lines for Vivica Fox, trying to get her into the action (like saying, "I should have been Black Mambo, ") It's hard to explain, but it was so cute He totally gets the whole warrior woman thing!

conan the barbarian :
dp loves this movie... that warrior woman kicks some butt

Mr and Mrs. Smith was pretty good.

An unknown movie called, "Silver Hawk" with all the cultural baggage as well. (really thought it was going to be one of those funky martial arts flicks but it was good.)

It's nice to see the contrast between nice strong ass-kicking females and the old movies where the girl just stood there wringing her hands and screaming.

If a girl is going to scream, it should be more of a kia.

The second one with Grace Jones? those were the days...

I think the young girl from Whalerider is an awesome warrior.

To me the ultimate buttkicking woman is Peta Wilson in the TV version of La Femme Nikita. Its on DVD now and she is just incredible to watch.
