So, what's been the reactions of the dh's, boyfriends, partners, and sperm-donators?

Mine just grinned. Then said, "Wow." Then he kept grinning and said, "Well, uh..." And, a minute later, still grinning he said, "Well, uh..."

That went on for about 5 minutes.

My dh was really excited and got a big smile on his face. We had been trying for a while and had an upcoming appointment with a fertility specialist. We are thrilled, to put it mildly. This wee one will join our ds (3 1/2).

Well, we were trying this time so he was really happy. Our first was a big surprise. I took the test at work. At the time, I worked a day job and he worked second shift. I worried all day that he was going to freak out. When he got home that night, I hardly said a word to him for a good hour. Finally he demanded to know what was wrong. When I told him I was pregnant he just shrugged and said, "Oh, ok." All that worry for nothing.

We were charting to avoid, but definitely open to the possibility of having a baby if it happened. I feel like I knew it had happened from the night this little b was conceived, and we spent the next thirteen days starting nearly every sentence with either 'If I'm knocked up....' or 'If you're knocked up...'

My positive results popped right up and I made kind of a wail/yelp/screech and he shouts "You are! Are you? You are!" We spent the next half hour lying in bed mostly trading "Oh my gosh. Pregnant." "Wow. You are." Not our most eloquent moments, but it was a nice way to spend the post-finding out glow.

wow!!! that was exactly what happened in our house!!!!!!!!
Right before we bd'ed he said "lets make a baby"....I said "riiiiight, let's not (all the while not even thinking about what cycle day I was on, I couldn't even think in the moment" Then right after, I just knew it was happening and said to him, do you want to hear the good news or the bad news? He said Bad. I said I'm going to be pregnant! he said good new now...I'm going to be pregnant!


he finally believed it after the 5th positive test. He finally looked at me with this huge grin and said "you're pregnant, what? really?, OMG?, we're going to have another baby? wow!?

Dh was beyond shocked. We did a fertility treatment this month, and I was so anxious I took a First Response test. Totally negative. I told him and he looked crushed.

Then when AF didn't show, I decided to test again. BFP!

We do "three good things and one bad thing that happened today" at our dinner table. My goods things were, "I got a pedicure, supper is delicous and we're saving $300 next month (won't need another IUI); my bad thing is, I don't think we'll be making your parents 50th wedding anniversary (it's in Colorado in July)" and I tossed him a little stocking with the test result. He was stunned.

After our loss last year I'm wary to say the least, but it's hard not to get excited (I've laready gotten down a few pregnancy books from the attic).

I just informed my man of my little surprise I was keeping secret since last night (he was out all night and I POAS for fun and was shocked)...it is #3 for us.

I told him I wasn't looking forward to the xmas party we have next weekend and he asked why, I said because I can't drink.

That was a dead giveaway. I smiled and he was like OH MY GOD. He had just woken up so I went to get the kids breakfast. I went back into bed to visit him and he said "I just had this crazy dream you came in here and told me you were pregnant."

We have been talking about a third, but this was my first PP cycle so I was totally shocked for a few days. He actually took it better than me. I kept insisting I wasn't pregnant for a few days but the idea has sunk in and I'm excited now. He was excited from the minute I told him.

Well he was a little overwhelmed at first. Even though we have casually talked about a 4th child we decided to visit the topic again in Feb.

The idea has grown on him already!

My dh thought the line was too light the first time. Two days later I showed him another that was darker and asked him if it was dark enough for him. He just laughed. After I had my first prenatal and I told him we have a blob he said "So that means it's really real?" Um yeah, I guess it takes having a dr tell us we are to actually make it true! LOL

My dh isn't really like that but that was my first thought when he said that.

Well, this is our 2nd baby and was planned - so dh was excited but we were both surprised because I had bleeding since 2dpo, so we had pretty much written this month off. Dont know what made me test - but we are both so completely thrilled!

He knew the night we conceived. He's like that. We wanted to have a 3rd (4th for him) because our family hasn't felt "complete."

We took 2 pg tests a week before AF was due. I expected AF on Friday and took another test on Sunday. He was so excited.

The only thing that freaked him out was the fact that he might not be able to see the baby in a u/s because of homebirth (and our insurance changing). Luckily, our chiropractor/kinesiologist muscle tested me the other day and said it's a boy. I have been feeling "different" this time around and had done my own pendulum test, so I wasn't surprised. The Doc said that he's only been wrong once when a woman didn't test well anyway.

Now DH doesn't glare at me when I say "he" when referring to the baby.
