How often do you check the oil in your vehicle? - Page 2

My van is 10 years old so I check it when I fill it up, and I'm not in a huge hurry or wearing something nice...so every 3rd or 4th fill up.

My car is fairly new (2004 Sentra) and I do the oil changes faithfully at every 3,000 miles, but maybe I just might start popping that hood sooner.

I don't check mine : DH checks it for me every 3,000 miles or so.

What type of vehicle do you have? What year? How much did it cost to fix the leak? What was the cause of the leak anyway?

ummm...when my light comes on? Used to drive my dad crazy when I was younger, but just don't remember. I had a car once that needed 1-2 quarts of oil every week, so I didn't really have to remember to check it

Seriously, I assume my husband is checking it for me. Car maintenance is not my forte!

Dh usually checks it. :

But when he is out of town and I have to do it, I try to do so once a month. Try to remember to do it on payday, just so I have another external reminder.

We also get the oil changed every 3,000 miles/3 months, so once a month is not too bad for our car.
