I'm thinking of seeing it - I'm in the mood for a really good scary movie. I don't want to waste my time with something that isn't going to have me jumping at sounds outside for a week

For those who have seen it, could you please rate it (out of 10) in terms of how good it was? Thanks

this was the scariest movie i'd ever seen. i guess im kind of a wimp when it comes to scary movies. i close my eyes when there is gore and tend to stay away from movies like urban legends and saw. i do like scary true stories, so i think that is what drew me to this one. i think that is why it was so scary, because i believed every word of it anyways, i saw this movie about the same time there had been a murder in my town and also a serious of rapes, and when i got home(alone) my back door was unlocked! so i called my ex and had him talk to me while i searched to house(like a dumb broad from a slasher flick ) unfortunately i couldnt bring myself to check my creepy basement so i ended up taking a cab to my exs and crashing there. it took a few days for the terror i felt to wear off. on that account i would have top give it a solid 10. Enjoy!!

I saw it with some friends when it first came out, and was very impressed . . . it didn't scare the bejeezus out of me, mostly because I don't believe in demonic possession. But there were some very jumpy moments, and it was creatively done!

Personally, I get more freaked out by movies like "Saw"--serial killer stories always get my heart racing, because they seem so much more plausible.

But "Emily Rose" was definitely a good one--I give it a big !

DH and I are going to see this for our date on Friday. I'm going to be scared to death, I just know it. (I slept with the light on for two weeks after seeing The Ring. And I STILL get scared if I allow myself to think about it. But I love scary movies!!!)

Really? Because I didn't think The Ring was scary at all. Everyone I know kept saying "Go see it! It's scary! OMG so scary!"...and then... I saw it and was bummed out at how lame it was.

My 12 year old bro went to see this and said it was not scary at all. I will not be seeing it though. Just watching the previews freaks me out! I was traumatized by sneaking and watching the Exorcist when I was 7. My mom told me not to watch it, but I snuck and watched it on my bedroom tv anyway. MISTAKE! I couldn't sleep well for weeks. My sis and I usually shared a bed and I was terrified that she would become possessed. i still can't stand to think of Linda Blair in that movie. The Ring also freaked me out majorly. I begged dh not to leave the house after watching it. I'm usually fine with scary movies though. There are just a few that scare me.

DP and I watched it last night. It was the most terrifying movie I've ever seen (well, maybe not as scary as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but my hands were over my eyes during that so I didn't really SEE it). TPOER effected me a lot, since it is based on a true story, and though I'm by no means religious, I do believe that people and places can be haunted or possessed. DP and I looked up this movie online today to see how much of it was fact. Not a lot, it seems. The story line is pretty much what happened, but everything else was changed. The girl was german, and it happened in the 60's and 70's. Check it out.
