i'm scared. - Page 2

you don't have to tell anyone. When I tried to include friends or family on our decision-they freaked and I didn't want to deal w/it anymore-so we told them "ok"-(they didn't press the issue after that,so I don't feel like I actualy lied ) and we don't talk about it anymore...

To make yourself even feel better, arm yourself with some homeopathic medicine from the health food store. That was the advice I gave to my dd when she was still uncertain and her dh was not on board (which he still is not) yet.

She got some Pulsitilla in case of whooping cough and liquid baby vita C - sodium ascorbate. And a few other things. She said it made her much more relaxed at the time.

its so frustrating to hear that a doc would resort to such words. its not surprising, just frustrating. did the doc tell you this while you were visiting him/her? or on the phone? was it just you and your baby or were you with your husband/partner?

It was just Haye and me...and we were at the doctor's office. See I'm so confused, normally I really like him. Maybe I'll just tell him I am NOT vaxing and he can't change my mind by being mean to me and not to touch my kids foreskin.

When he found out Haye was 16 pounds (he's 2 months old) he told me NOT to stop feeding him, to keep doing what I was doing and to not feed him solids til he's at LEAST 6 months old. He's extremely gentle and good with Haye (other than the foreskin issue) and I really like him, so I'm torn. He pissed me off but maybe I'll give him a second chance. We only see him every two months or so.

I dunno. I'm getting stronger. I'm going to start printing stuff out and taking notes and preparing myself. I want Haye as much "out of the system" as possible.

I forgot to mention, I WAS vaxed for pertussis and still got it when I was 15. I was DEATHLY ill, I seriously thought I was dying and for about a month I was extremely sick. I wouldn't have been able to handle it if I was a baby. Not at all.

Anyways...am I now immune to it now that I've had it?

That's a pretty low thing to say.

Here's another one...my son's doctor told me today that years ago people had to have a lot of kids because half of them would end up dying from what are now "vaccine preventible" diseases.

Um...I thought they had a lot of kids because they didn't have access to reliable birth control?? Maybe I should plan on having a few more kids now, hu?

Vaccinating for pertussis can be very risky too. They just do not tell you that at the doc's office. I found out the hard way. My 2 mo. old after her shots ended up in the hospital..seizure. Wasn't fun and after being warned by the hospital that I may not want to continue with vaccinations for her, I was completely puzzled why her ped at the time wanted to continue. I did some reading and am skipping the rest of the vaxes.

A really great vaccine guide and also a great website is here: www.cure-guide.com

Another good internet radio show is www.hpakids.org

It's good to make sure you find a supportive doc that lets YOU be the parent.
