Bumpy covers

I am mostly using prefolds for my 2 yr old now and I need to get more pul covers.
I have a Bummis sww, which works great, but I have a tough time getting the legs snug enough so the prefold doesn't stick out.
From what I can tell Bumpy has leg gussets that might help me out.

How well do they hold up compared to a Bummis sww or prorap?

The aplix at the waist looks kind of huge and uncomfortable. Is it flexible enough so ds can be comfortable?

My son has a tall rise and skinny legs. Would this cover work well on him?

Thanks for any help!

My dd, Mackenzie, also has a tall rise and skinny legs and the Bumpy cobers work really wll for her. The soft cover is actually my favorite because of how trim, soft and pliable it is.

I started out with the BSWW and they caused nasty red marks all over ds' thighs. Then, I tried the Bumpy's and them. They are soft and flexible and the gussets work very well. The only complaint I have is that they don't have fold back laundry tabs. I like that they have the cotton outer - just make sure not to leave your babe in it too long b/c it can wick. The Bumpy soft cover is very similar to the regular Bumpy, except it doesn't have a cotton outer. It also appear, IMO, to be sized a bit bigger too. I am now using wool almost exclusively, but have hung onto these covers just in case my wool is washing.

Bumpy day and night covers are my all-time favorites. I'm sure they're not as durable as BSWWs and Proraps (which are industrial-grade covers and bulletproof, and also don't feel anywhere as nice as Bumpys, IMO), but I've had no problems with mine so far and they still look really good.

I wash them with regular laundry (NO diaper pail, NO washing with diapers, and I just fasten the tabs & turn inside out to wash, so the lack of laundry tabs is no biggie) and hang to dry-- they don't take long to air-dry at all. And yes, they are very flexible and I love the wide aplix 'cause I find it easier to fasten the tabs quickly.

But if you don't like the wide aplix or want something that requires no special care-- I would strongly suggest the Mother-Ease Air-Flow covers. They close with snaps and are just as bulletproof as the BSWWs, and in my experience they NEVER leak.

HTH!

I Have 2 Bumpy day covers and a Bumpy soft cover and they are my all time FAV cover! I have not had any problems with mine at all. I like the pp wash mine in with my reg laundry. They are so soft and oh soo trim. The soft cover is sized a bit bigger then the Bumpy day/night. I am going to be getting some more of these very soon

regarding the aplix, its actually a loop fabric (as in hook and loop) and its very flexible. Nothing like having a big chunk of aplix that big-its totally different stuff and doesn't make the cover stiff at all, IMO.

Anyone using these covers with trifolded prefolds? How do they work?
