Are your breasts leaking?

Hello beautiful mamas! This is my first post, but I have been reading for a while. My question is, what do you do when your breasts leak? I wear pads in my bra during the day, but at night and around the house, I am leaking and staining my clothes. I am at 20 weeks, and so happy to be pregnant, but just wondering if anyone has any advice. Thanks!

I've leaked pretty much continuously for the last 5 1/2 yrs (since 16 wks with ds#1). I wear a bra 24 hrs a day with pads in it. I take it off for showers and sex pretty much. I just can't stand staining shirts or waking in a pool of milk. If I just can't stand the bra I put a towel under me in the bed and just change it when I get up to go potty in the night.

Thanks, pfamilygal. Guess I'm going to have to find a comfy bra to wear more often. BTW, I'm in TX, too, in Round Rock.

I'm not leaking (yet) nor did I when I was pg with dd. But, after having dd I leaked for about the first nine months. I used the Gerber disposable pads continuously. I even slept in them. The only time I didn't have them on was when I was showering or nursing. Cause I leaked even during sex.

Any other first timers experiencing this?!? I've been leaking since 18 weeks which is just silly Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that my body is gearing up for lots of milk but when I got up in the middle of the night last night there was enough colostrum to actually drip down my belly and hit my knee I'm afraid to imagine what the postpartum situation is going to be like.....

I haven't had a problem this pregnancy, but I did with my first starting around 15 weeks. I actually wore nursing pads from the time I was 15 weeks pregnant with BeanBean until he was about 14 months old and I was far enough along in my second pregnancy that my milk had mostly dried up. I haven't had a leakage problem since, though i was kind of expecting one this time around since neither of my children is nursing. It's all good; I know I'll have plenty of milk once BellyBean is born.

I've been leaking since about 15 wks. Not continously, but on some days. DH thinks it is hilarious when I look down and notice a spot on my shirt. : What is so hilarious about it? I have asked him this....but he just thinks it is so funny.

Not leaking all by themselves...but there is something there.

No, not leaking here. And it is so weird to me. This is the first time in 4 years that I haven't even had a drop of milk. It makes me worry a little, but I'm sure it's fine?

Mine has actually pretty much dried up now, at least as far as milk goes. If I squeeze a nipple I get a big thick bead of yellow colostrum. Mmm, liquid gold.

Mine just started! 27 weeks, first pg. Only one, and only a little, but it HURTS! Hmmm. So far, I've only stained a bit..... what is it you add to the wash water? Baking soda?

What are everyone's fave pads? I have a GC to Motherhood I'm sure not gonna use on clothes, maybe I can get some there? Or, can I just use some cloth or something? Hmmm....

I like Johnson and Johnson disposable Healthflow pads. I could never find reusables ones that weren't totally noticable under clothes. And I don't need to draw any more attentions than necessary to these bodacious tatas.

Well, either i was sweating to the point of dripping last night...or the boobs began leaking while I was asleep. I will be interested to see if it happens again...it woke me up, and I was rather groggy, and didn't check thouroughly to see if that was what it was... I have a feeling it was leaking, not sweating, since I am not a big sweater.

Well, if it happens again, then I am gonna need to start sleeping with a bra on...felt kinda clammy after it happened.

Started at 30 weeks for me. Hormonally I'm a mess, and I kind of attribute it to that.

I have really bad edema, and starting to get varicose veins, and I don't know if they are related. But I'm just chalking it up to hormones.

I'm a first timer as well, and I don't "leak" persay, but I've been able to easily squeeze colostrum out since 15 weeks.

No leaking here, I didn't have it with DSs pregnancy either though

I'm not leaking, but I get colostrum if I squeeze. I liked the reusable curved cloth pads from Motherhood. I'd like to try some wool pads, but they look bulky. I wasn't a heavy leaker though, so the washables were good for me. I've heard some people just saturate them. I have heard good things about those silicone cup thingies you wear. I can't remember the name of it. Kind of like a nipple shield, but it's specifically to contain the leakage, and I think it compresses or something to actually keep it from happening. They have them at Babies R Us.

I've had some friends love them and others hate them, but the ones who love them REALLY love them.
