Sick Sewing Machine?

About a week ago I was sewing and my neddle kept like hitting something in the bottom of the machine, if I went in reverse using my hand it doesn't but forward it does. I thought the neddle was bent so I went and got some new ones... Only to sit down and have the same thing happened.

Ugh! And it took me a week to get around to finding neddles, now this!

Has this ever happened to anyone? Will i have to take it to get repaired or is there something I'm obviously doing wrong. My mom gave me the machine I've only had it at my new place like 2 months.... I'm soo bummed I got alot of work I want to get done for Christmas!

Any idea whats a matter with it?

PeAce,
Lisa

Did you try taking out all the bobbin housing parts and seeing if there's anything in there that's bent? I'd try taking it all part, oiling, rethreading before bringing it in for repair.

Last time that happened to me we brought the machine in to the guy who fixes them for us (I guess he's a sewing machine repair man?). He told us it was because the timing was off.

He also told me that forcing thick fabric through the machine will do that and I had just been working on sewing a bunting for my DD using quilted fleece and had forced a few seams through.

Thanks so much for the suggestions

When it happened I was working on a pair of canvas coveralls for my son
Yeah I took the bobbin out and it looks like it's out of sinc... when the round thing goes around the neddle goes down when & where there is no space for it to go down.

My Mom is a dear & is going to lend me hers till I find a Sewing Machine Repair Person in my area!

Thanks for da help! : :

Peace Lisa
