Wow this is an old thread but I must say I feel totally shocked by the "one week" bonus rule. DS goes to an in home care provider and we gave her family a $40 gift card for Christmas. We already live pay check to pay check and I thought that was a very nice gesture considering our financial situation.
Oh well. Hope we didn't insult her ![]() |
We do as you do CanidFL, its an in home care provider, another little girl, she's there part time now. Last year we gave her a weeks pay ( definatly not the $10 an hour the other poster mentioned) although I gave her a raise shortly after starting with her, I thought her price was too low!
She's worth more if I could afford it! This year we did the same, a week. I guess I see her more like a friend than an employee, we pay off the books, so she gets all the money we pay her. I buy her gifts during the year, holidays, her birthday etc, to ensure she understands how much we appreciate her and how well our daughter has been taken care of with her!
