I'm eagerly anticipating it as well. I just finished the book so its all fresh. Wonder how much they will stray from the original? Is it out this Friday?

Very eager! I'm interested to see if the movie turns out to be as good as the book was.

I can't wait!!! I owned multiple copies of this book and they're floating out there in the universe being read. The commercials look VERY promising!

Here is the official website.

I'm going to see it! I read the book when it first came out. But I'm going in there with the expectation there will be changes to the story. Hopefully, the changes will be minor.

I read the book several years ago. I can't wait until the movie comes out.

I hadn't realized there was a movie until I saw this thread.....thanks

It is one of the best books that I ever read. However, due to funds I will wait to see it when it comes out on video. I'm eager to hear your opinions.

I just saw a preview of the movie the other day and I am freaking out!! I can't wait to see it.

It's going to be gorgeous.

I did just read in Entertainment Weekly however, that the costume designer took liberties with traditional Japanese kimono, so expect that.

The dancing scene in the white kimono looks so incredible. Ziyi is so athletic and cool in all her movies.

Ohhhhhh, I can't wait for it. I love that book so much.

Last night I decided I should read the book first and then see movie. My mom owns the paperback, she read when the paperback version of the book came out. Don't know how long reading the book will take me. See the movie while reading book or before I get to reading it. Will let you guys know what happens with this.

Thank you.

You mean aside from casting Chinese actresses in all three lead roles? Yeah, yeah, yeah---I know, we all look alike anyway...

Yes! I can't wait! Ziyi Zhang is absolutely brilliant. And I'm really excited to see Gong Li in an American film. She's one of the most beautiful women to ever grace the screen and a simply amazing actress.

I may have to read the book again first... or not. That's a hard call.
