Easing sore nipples and breasts from pg? -- OUCH!

I'm suffering from some mega-sore breasts and nipples with my pg -- any ideas on how to ease this w/ some natural home remedies? Or is it a grin and bear it type of thing? The water falling from my shower hurts me, that's how sensitive I am.

FWIW - I don't drink coffee, caffeinated teas or soda pop. Though I am known to indulge in chocolate a couple times a week!

Ds is still nursing 3x per day, and it HURTS!!!

I think its a grin and bear it thing. Hopefully it will pass quickly for you. My ds nurses at least 10Xper day and it the early weeks it was horrible. Now at 7 weeks it doesn't hurt quite as much all the time, and occasionally it doesn't hurt at all. Good luck!

It certainly felt like it took a long time for my soreness to resolve , but it eventually did. And then nursing became quite pleasurable. Of course I was glowing from being pregnant and all. How old is your DS? Mine was old enough to understand that nursing sessions were sometimes abrupted. He saw my discomfort. Boy, did he spend a lot of time with dh at his previously favorite nursing times for awhile!

I'm not entirely sure the chocolate consumption would be an issue (ahem, my statement: spoken like a true chocoholic...!)

Rubbing helped alleviate some of the soreness a bit. (Verrrrrry gentle rubbing....)
