How did you find that out- did they contact you?

I like natural health & natural home & garden too.

Besides Mothering, there is Mother Jones, Prevention, Organic Gardening, etc.

I just renewed too. I wonder if I get a refund, or their organic gardening mag.

I hadn't heard. My subscription doesn't run out until the end of 2006. I hope I get a refund.

I stumbled across their website on the internet while I was looking for other magazines to subscribe to - that's how I found out they got canceled. Then, I called Rodale and sure enough, according to the person I spoke with, Rodale made a "business decision" to cancel the magazine, a very bad decision if you ask me!

The lady told me to write in and let them know how disappointed I was. I did! You should all write too. This lady said that if enough people write, they may decide to resurrect Organic Style.

You can write them at:
ROLcustserv@rodale.com

I also asked about my subscription. They will be subbing with a different magazine, so I'll probably end up with Organic Gardening. She said a letter to subscribers was coming out soon. I also tried to post a thread in activism here, but that's being moderated so my post is delayed. WRITE IN LADIES!!

Here's their website, in case you want to verify for yourself: http://organicstyle.com/

And thanks for the tips. I wonder, does anyone get Green Guide? Would that be a good substitute?

For Organic News a great e-newsetter Organic Bytes. You can sign up in the right side bar at: http://www.organicconsumers.org/

Also, I enjoy The Natural Farmer, which you get with membership in NOFA (Northeast Organic Farming Association). You'll also get a newsletter with stories more specific to your state, depending on what state you join in.

Another good read is the MOFGA Paper from Maine. It comes with membership to the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association.

I emailed them, but only to ask what would happen with my subscription. Once they reply, I'll respond back and tell them I am disappointed that the magazine is gone. It wasn't quite where I wanted it to be, but it was the only magazine of its kind so I basically took what I could get!

ITA. It tended towards the fluffy side, but it did have some good articles - flouride in drinking water and the dangers of high fructose corn syrup. It also was waaaayyy heavy on consumerism. But, like you said, it was one of very few options out there. The other thing I actually liked about was its glossy, supermarket magazine style. I had high hopes that it might be just the bridge needed to take the organic lifestyle to the mainstream. I told Rodale that. We'll see what happens...

Wish i knew where my thread in Activism ended up. Would the mods have nixed it? I posted over 2 days ago!

If you mean your thread about writing to Rodale it's still there. It's on page 1.

No one mentioned Body & Soul magazine. It's pretty good. There is a new magazine in the stores called Breathe. It seems promising. According to the magazine it's aimed at those who are authentic, mindful, active, altruistic, spiritual and environmentally considerate.
