Repairing a hole in the front of a cotton knit dress ...

How would you do that?



Am attached to it. It's a really comfortable nursing dress, it's a cotton knit, I think they call this fabric "interlock?" Not sure 'bout that, though ...

Anyway, the tear/hole is right on the belly (and mine is not small ... the belly, that is). Would you patch it? Just hand-stitch it and keep it a housedress/inthehouse?

Don't want to toss it. It's really really comfy.

So I'm looking for advice. Would you put a patch on it? Is that a silly idea? or just stitch up the hole?

Or did I say that already?

With knits, I always mend. If possible, find a cotton thread similar in weight and color and try to reconstruct the knit with your mending.
