What to get for five-year-old girl?

I need a gift in the $50 range for a five-year-old girl. She's into art, but has a lot of supplies already and gets frustrated if it's too far outside her abilities. (She has two older siblings, so there's not necessarily a ton of help available from mom.) Not into books.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Silks! Or dress up clothing out of silks. These are the fantasy items I over for my girls!

I got dd a puppet theater from Lillian Vernon of all places. It is $45 w/o puppets and there is also an option with puppets. Since she loves crafts, she could craft some puppets herself.

do you know of any pottery shops near where she lives where she could paint a glaze onto an item and have it fired? (kind of like this place does - http://www.paintyourownpottery.com) Then she could have the fun of doing the project(s) and having something really cool to keep.

My dd is 5yo and loves dress up stuff......jewelry purses etc.

Also....I saw a great puppet theatre with puppets at Costco. I also got a great easel there (all wood) a couple years ago....seems they bring that stuff back every xmas.

Klutz Paper Doll book

Hama Beads

Lite Brite (Flat screen)

Klutz Velvet Art Book

You would need to combine 2 of these to be near the $50 mark. But they are all wonderful art related toys that my girls have loved.

You mentioned that she already has a lot of supplies, but I do like this one: http://www.toystogrowon.com/sku319 b/c it keeps all the craft supplies in one spot. My 7 y/o is more into classical art (painting and drawing) than crafts, though, so if she is into art not crafts, that may not be the way to go.

Another thought is giving her a gift of an art class -- paying the tuition for her to attend a class for a month or so.

*does she already have gel pens? my dd's LOVe them! they're a little pricey so getting them as a gift is grand for my dd's! they use them alot and they run out of ink after so many uses so they ask for them alot. they are budding artists as well(3 1/2 and 11).

*also wooden marble runs are a big hit with both my dd's

*buddha board was also a big hit in our house (its a board that comes with a paint brush and a container to hold water. you 'paint' with the water onto the board and it magickly disapears after a few minutes so you can keep painting over and over. www.buddhaboard.com

I got mine at a local 'newagey'type book/gifts store so you may be able to find it local if you have those type stores nearby you.

What great ideas! My dd is a budding artist as well.

I hope I can find one of those Buddha Boards locally. I have never seen one of these and I think it's a wonderful idea!

Sorry, I don't have any different ideas than what was already mentioned here.
