What's on your needles right now? - Page 4

Wow, it's great seeing the old thread back. I had a newborn (a different newborn) when we were talking about this last.
You know what? I have loads of stuff on my needles now, but I'm barely knitting. Isn't that weird? It just doesn't seem important : I think I'm in the postpartum productivity slump.

I have resorted to crochet for the time being. And it's going slowly compared to what I used to do.I start, then the baby cries, wants to eat, the kids raid the fridge or fight....then 30 minutes later I find myself trying to remember where was I.

I've got lots of stuff on the sewing table currently.Knitting will wait a few weeks until I get that sorted out.

Nothing exciting here. I have a shrug for me, a dishcloth, a pair of baby booties, and a toy cat.

Listing my projects out makes me look MDK obsessed. lol I currently have OTN:

-a moderne baby blanket- second of 2 blankets, just have the applied I cord edging to finish up
- an MDK kimono in brown, green and cream
-a ballband dishcloth

And my non MDK project- a pair of longies for the bun in the oven in rich chocolate malabrigo. I plan a sweater to match, probably a sachiko kimono.

Socks for DD, almost done, garterlac dishcloth for Christmas gifts, i-cord oval rug that I'm sewing together to see how much more i-cord I'll need, a baby gift that needs to be finished by Sunday, and the Arwen cardigan that I'd love to have finished by the time we head East on vacation (about six weeks). I'm also working on the never-ending afghan for DH and I'm on the 11th of 12 squares. It's going to get finished this year.

I have a BFL pair of longies for my lo- but those can really wait like 7 months to be done.

peapod cardi- but I don't like it. The pattern is confusing and I am just not feeling it. Life it too short right?

Next up is a presto chango for my bff who is due in November. I have tons of time.

But I really need to get my sewing under control as opposed to my knitting. I am sick of looking at half finished projects on my table. Plus I will start needing to work on some maternity....

a baby sweater
a doily
a tank for my dd
a build a bear sash

That's it!

Sweater should be done tonight
I think I'm going to frog the doily and sash
the tank sent me in tears- my first really big knitting mistake. I had to step away for a while. I'll get back to it before the summer's over so she can wear it (its the monica tank from Knitty- there was a thread about it awhile back)

no. Best to let sleeping dogs lie.

Wow, you guys knit impressive stuff. I'm still new to knitting as a hobby, but I have just cast on and knit half the waistband on a pair of Sheepy Pants for DS, and I'm still working on a dishcloth for my Step-Grandmother, who is my knitting mentor. (She finished a pair of Sheepy pants in few days...) I was meant to finish the dishcloth for Christmas, but....oh well. It's her birthday next week....

Wow, old thread! There's a post from me from the time before I could knit, just crochet. Now all I do is knit!

I've been knitting up a storm and have decided to be at peace with having several projects OTN at once instead of feeling bad about it!

OTN:

Simple top-down raglan for dd1 in Joann Sensations Licorice (100% wool) in blues/white/periwinkle that I got on clearance last year--soft, squishy and bulky and FAST. I'm using the "Amazing Custom Raglan" instructions.

Stitch Diva's Labyrinth , the short-sleeved version, in Knit Picks Cot Lin, in chocolate brown and a lilac-ish color for the contrasting wavy stripes. I am making the neckline higher to compensate for lack of what is required to hold it up. This is going slowly right now.

KPS top-down hooded sweater for ds. Needs hood grafted and sleeves and needs more yarn-KP Wool of the Andes in Forest Heather

Easy-Peasy Cardigan for dd1, just needs sleeve edging and buttons, in Fisherman's Wool Nature's Brown, with green button band and sleeve edging in Fisherman's Wool dyed with Wilton's by me.

Easy-Peasy for DD2 in Knit Picks Quarry (great price on sale!) in purple and a sagey-green--needs one side of front finished, buttons.

Knitty's Duo, short-sleeved, for dd2 in Perestroika Pink Peace Fleece. Just needs blocking and seaming.

I have a few toys/gnomes in hibernation.

My Peace Fleece wholesale order should arrive tomorrow! I've been waiting to do this order forever. It's all for me, except four skeins.

My plans for the PF:
Zephyr Style's Wicked for me, in Burgundy. Doing a KAL with a friend, who is doing it in Anna's Grasshopper.

Top Down Raglans for the Kiddos:

DS: Sheplova
DD1: Seamoss
DD2: Lavendar

I might add a different single cable down the center of each one, if I can figure out how.

I also bought several single skeins for making animals for dd's (Waldorf) Kindergarten classroom for this coming fall, and for hats and mittens.

Nothing at the moment. Taking a brief heat-induced break before starting a reversibly cabled afghan for our cousin's wedding gift. I've never made anything this large or complicated so it's hard to find the motivation to start.

Omigosh, I wasn't even knitting yet when this thread began!

Right now I'm finishing a Blanket Buddy (from 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders) in pink, as a gift for an expectant friend; and I'm about to start a Baby Surprise Jacket for another friend, who is expecting in October - I just knit the gauge swatch.
