"Natural" gift idea for a 5yo?

One of my dd's playmates moved out of state and we want to send her a birthday gift- probably in the $10 range. Any ideas of anything I can pick up from a WAHM?

All my dd wanted for Christmas is Strawberry Shortcake stuff so I'm a little of the loop for natural gift ideas.

5 is a great time to learn how to finger knit. She can make braclets, necklaces, belts and even a small rug

I'm pretty sure that you could download instructions and package up some fun and funky yarns.

Also, I have found that Marshall's, TJMaxx and Ross are good places to find VERY reduced Melissa and Doug wood toys. I often find their products $10 and below.
