Anyone else's pants getting tight? - Page 2

Mine are tight too, I've been wearing my yoga pants around town lately! I'm kind of concerned because I didn't need maternity clothes until at least 7 months during my last pregnancy. I'm a lot healthier now though and am eating much more than I did last time. Glad to know that I'm not alone here.

Wow! 7 months? I'm impressed! And jealous. You wanna see what I looked like at 7 months last time (29 weeks, to be exact)?

joining the tight pants club, here. I was just thinking I ought to go ahead and pull out the maternity clothes and dig out the transitional stuff. Sweatpants only go so far...

As for the bathing suit thing - I have 2 - both 2 peice (one is a tankini style that ended up riding up my belly toward the end of dd's time in there!) and they are "ok". My last child was born July 31 and I spent a lot of time in an inflatable baby pool (was 2- 3 feet deep) in the last month. DH got it for me because I was so miserable and NC in summer is just unbearable. I am thinking we may be pulling that pool out again!

tight pants

With baby #1 my pants weren't tight until 15 weeks. Baby #2, I think it was somewhere between 6-8 weeks (but I was only 6 months postpartum, so wht can you expect). This time my jeans are tad tighter already, but they still fit. I've never gained more than 1 pound during my first trimester. It is usually just bloating in the beginning. My clothes usually go BACK to fitting for a few weeks before the baby belly begins to cause tightness.

Unfortunately, I'll also have to be shopping for a new bathing suit. We had made plans to go to Hawaii in March before this baby happened. It'll be that "fat" looking stage, instead of a big prego belly though. How embarassing! But there's no way I'm going to Hawaii and not swimming!!

Oh I'm glad you said that! My pants fit better yesterday and today than they have for the past week or so, and I was wondering what the heck was up! However...I am usually pretty slim, and I definitely have the beginnings of a belly. So I think I'll be in transitional clothing in a few weeks.

Pants were a little snug to begin with but some are clearly too tight now. I'm wearing a lot of elastic waist sweats and a pair of jeans that are one size too big. Dh doesn't want to tell anyone until sometime in January, and he looked at me the other day and asked if I was going to be able to hide it until then. Um, no, and can we just let the cat out of the bag please so I don't have to pretend I feel good while visiting your family for 5 days at Christmas?

Sorry for the off-tangent vent there ...

oh! I love wearing a bathing suit pregnant! I wear a bikini top with shorts. I love it! Normally wouldn't be caught dead ni a bikini.

Oh, thank y'all! I was starting to feel like an overstuffed sausage myself, and i'm so glad to hear that it's normal, or at least shared. I've been sitting behind my desk all day with my top button undone, feeling pudgy, even though the scale says the same derned thing it always says. Bloat or baby-- either way, it's just more progress.

I bought the most comfy pair of corduroys the other day at Kohl's-- they have that low-rider style that the kids are wearing these days, and it's just phenomenal. Ahhhhh. Relief.

Today I bit the bullet and went to Motherhood and bought those things that extend your waistbands...oh my gosh this is the most comfortable any of my pants have been in a week. Totally overpriced, I should have looked for a set used, but worth it.

rebeccalizzie, I could've written some of your posts! I've a 9 y.o. ds and -- surprise! -- I'm pregnant. I immediately lost my waist, and I'm just horrified that I already have to wear maternity pants. I thought maybe I was less willing to be uncomfortable than I was 10 years ago, but I really think that's it just that my body immediately declared defeat.

Same here!
My jeans are tight. I at first thought it was that tight feeling when they come out of the dryer. We went last minute errand running last night and after a while in the car i had to unbutton my pants. Everytime i had to get out and run in somewhere i had to suck in and button them. not much left to suck in.
I am sure a lot is bloating, but i am not sure if the bloating will go away before the real baby belly starts.
SOOO not looking forward to maternity pants. yuck.

I am eating all the time, like 5 small healthy meals a day, and I'm usually SUCH a light eater. I feel extremely bloated and am trying to hide it with big sweaters. ("No family, I'm not pregnant... it's just really cold outside... ) I'm 5'6" and usually 125 and the scale say 127. I'm only 6 weeks but at this rate...

I started unbuttoning levi's at 5 weeks, had to finally buy one pair of pants at 6 weeks. It started with baby #3, getting "thick" so early, I was convinced I was pg with twins. I've finally come to the conclusion that after being pg so many times my body just knows what to do and as soon as it realizes it has to get big for a baby it just lets loose! LOL

I did finally get another pair of pants for Christmas so now I have two pairs to wear. I have to figure out who I lent my maternity clothes to so I can have more to wear! I didn't have any intention of getting pg again so I've given a lot of stuff away.

Anyone else over 40?

I'm just 7 weeks today and since I'm still at a high-risk of miscarriage I would prefer not to have a neon sign pointing at my non-existent waistline!! Even though my daughter was born 11 long years ago, my body seems to remember this shape like it was yesterday!
