Okay so I have french terry. Both sides are soft so which side faces babies bottom, smooth or loops?? I just made an AIO with the smooth side facing. I wouldn't think it would really matter, but I just had a thought that maybe if the loops were facing baby it would hang on to the poop better.?

If both sides are soft, I don't think it'd matter. I've only used hemp french terry, and the loop side of that isn't so soft, IMO, so I always do smooth side toward baby. But yes, if the loop side is soft, it'd probably hold the poop in better and keep the poo leaks at bay.

even cotton french terry will get a bit stiff and rough after many washings, I would do the smooth side to the baby. but you're right, the loops would hold runny b/f poops in better.

If it's hemp french terry, I stay w/ smooth side out. I've heard that it gets sooo rough and scratchy over time. Actually, unless you need the loops for snappi, I'd always do smooth side out. I don't think the loops would make enough difference in the poop factor to risk it getting really rough on your babies bum!
