Preemie prefold

I just thought I'd share this, it's the cutest little thing if I may say so myself.
I was testing out the ease of making these for a friend due with twins in July.

Unfolded

All folded up...tiny!

Hopefully by the time I'm due I will have cleaned out enough closet space to put a set of drawers for this little one in there. Super easy to make too! Now I just wonder how on earth you close these, a snappi seems like it would be so huge!

Pins or lay in wrap is what you do with preemie prefolds. I did the regular fold, but used the wrap to hold it on - no fasteners. And the scary thing is that even preemie prefolds were big on DS when he came home from the NICU! Now they seem very tiny, and I use them as doublers. They're perfect size!

What type of fabric did you use?

Thanks!

This is T-shirt fabric, nice and soft. I made one whole 4x8x4 prefold from the bottom 2/3 of one adult sized t-shirt! There is still plenty left over to make some lay in doublers for my dipes. Woo hoo!

That is adorable!!! So tiny!

I did use a snappi in the hospital to put prefolds on my newborn. He was 9lbs, 10oz though, plenty of baby to work with.
