pk so i was happily sewing dd's stocking, almost finished when the machine stops stichting. upon closer examination it seemed the sticthing slowly went. first the stiches got bigger then huge then nothing. i got a test piece of clth and messed with a few things but no dice it just doesn't stitch. any ideas?

(I really need to try and figure it out soon b/c i am going to pop any day and i really need to get this stokcing (and another that isn't even started yet) finished vefore christmas.)

thanks

Are you working with fleece or some fluffy material that could be shedding and clogging up the works?

Do you smell anything funny? Could you have damaged the motor if you are sewing something too heavy?

Could a stray thread have gotten tangled down by the bobbin?

Have you tried adjusting the tension?

Have you tried rethreading the machine?

Good Luck. If you are tired and ready to pop and it is just one stocking, I might pretend you are Ma Ingalls and get out the old fashioned needle and thread and whip through it faster than you could check all of the above.

ok well i will check the bobbin and rethread it, i messed with the other stuff and i am just sewing plain fabric. i should say that the needle is moving but the stitches just aren't being made.
