I feel like once I get to the actual homebirth, everything will be fine and I'm not too concerned. However, I feel like I should be doing more now regarding testing and stuff. I am 23 weeks.
I wonder if I should get a GD test because I know that the pee stick doesn't really tell you anything and you may or may not have symptoms and I don't feel like I have been eating as well as I should be, lots of sugary stuff and I'm overweight.
I decided not to have an ultrasound, but I am thinking now that I want one. I am afraid that the baby is all tangled up in his/her umbilical cord (because it's kind of clumped up at the top of my uterus--not vertical. I want to see and know that all his/her parts are there and working ok. EVEN all the while knowing that the u/s has possible risks and may have false positives on a ton of stuff.
I don't really want to talk to my midwife about this right now because I have been so proud of myself for being intervention free (coming off of 2 miscarriages and a very medical 1st birth.
How do I get through KNOWING everything will be ok, while knowing there are no guarantees?
