okay mama, a friend and i went in together on buying a bolt of silk to make playsilks for our children. i know there are special needles for holding the silk together and i was wondering if you have to use special thread? we dont have a serger. we are just going to do the fold over a few times and stich thing. (if that makes any sence to anyone?) if there is special thread what is it called and can i find in at stores like joanna's? or can i use just the plain old thread i use for all my other sewing projects. thanks.
