your cravings?

I had a craving for chinese food that has passed. But I couldn't resist chocolate cake (my husband brought a piece home from work, but not vegan), so I just baked a whole giant cake, ate 2 slices, then froze the rest to keep myself from eating it. Then I absolutely HAD to go get some Tofutti Pizza Pizzaz for dinner tonight, but I was kind enough to share it with my family (instead of greedily waiting until after the kids were in bed). I'm TRYING to be good this time...but it's sometimes hard. Thank goodness I've been craving spinach or salad for breakfast!!
What's everyone else craving?

I don't have really intense cravings -- I just like ALL food. Food never tastes quite so good as when your pregnant!!

But strangely I've been craving salad (yawn!).

My cravings are for chai tea lattes (made at home), chicken in a biscuit crackers - oh, I think I might have to run home at lunch to bring them to work.

That's it right now. although, I do want to eat beef more - usually I don't eat beef because dh doesn't, but I've been wanting it.

I love carbohydrates! I've been eating toast (whole wheat and much better than french fries) a lot. I also have a yen for skim vanilla lattes from this great coffee place just around the corner.... There goes $3 a day until August!

I've been craving eggs and toast, although I thought I was going to puke right after eating them this morning, so I'm not sure if I'll eat those again.

CatskillMtnmama, I've been craving salad too!

pickles

I didn't even know deep-fried pickles existed!?! Or did you invent them? It's funny, if I am craving pickles you can be guaranteed I'm NOT pregnant; I've never liked pickles while pregnant!

Haha no. I wihs I had invented them. You can get them at this little Italian deli here and some restaurants have them, but very few people I know have tried or eveen heard of them. It is so cliche, but with both my pregnancies, I craved pickles as soon as my period was due.

Last time, I craved Angel Hair primavera too.

It's all about meaty, manly foods here. Chili dogs, pizza, huge burritos etc. The thought of anything sweet makes my stomach churn. My daily Starbucks habit is now gone at least for the first few months which is good because it will save me a ton of $.

I crave SLEEP! No food at this point so cooking for my family is a challenge. I am so grateful that my husband is home until the new year so I don't have to cook if I absolutely can't stomach it.

Last night I was feeling sorry for myself and was thinking a nice hot fudge sundae with nuts sounded lovely! Since I am most likely going to be treated as having Gestational Diabetes (anyone else?) those will be off limits to me until after delivery.

Happy munching everyone!

Chicken fat.

I want fried chicken. I want to buy a rotisserie chicken and just rip off all the skin in one big hunk and eat it. I want chicken and dumplin's with big pools of golden yellow chicken fat puddling all over.

Last week it was bacon. I woke up my husband by standing over him in bed, and when he blearily stared up, I said, "Gimme bacon if you want to live." Completely hilarious.

I've been having mild cravings for waffles with a ton of syrup and english muffins with cinnamon and sugar...pregnancy makes me want sweet things!!

I also have a strong aversion to elbow noodles all of a sudden...unfortunately since my daughter loves them

Citrus and nasty nasty food! I can't stand the idea of oatmeal (my former favorite breakfast), but bring on the bacon, bologna, and mozzerella sticks! BLECH!!! I can't believe what I've been eating!

Drinking fresh orange juice and eating my weight in fresh pineapple helps me feel a little better about it... but not much!

I wish I was craving something!! I have trouble coming up with anything that even sounds good, let alone tastes good. Although, I do have to say that fresh veggies (salad, esp) tastes really good. That's the only thing that does.

Everything else . . . sheesh, I wish I didn't have to eat. I'm so tired of eating!! (I'm delaying lunch at the moment, very unwise since not eating makes me feel really nauseaus, but I just can't muster the enthusiasm to go to the kitchen and find something slightly palatable.) When not in first trimester pg, I love to eat.

Gosh, I can't wait for the second trimester . . .

I'm glad you all are enjoying eating!

Hey Jen I hear ya.. I am hungry but nothing appeals to me... And I feel like nothing is easy to make when you eat gluten free and when I want to eat I want to eat right now and not make it a big production. :
