I'm in the middle of a diaper. I lifted the foot to get the cloth out and now I'm trying to catch the thread from the bobbin but I can't get the wheel thingy to turn (the wheel that you turn to make the needle go up and down). Is it broken? I don't have a manual so I can't refer to that. Its my sister's machine and its kind of old, but I have no idea how old.

I'd take the thread out, take the bobin out, look for any 'extra' threads caught in the machine (especially around the bobin area) and pull them out, and rethread the whole machine. That seems to take care of most of my machine problems.
