Can't help with the Wiltons(sorry) but you'll be o.k. without synthrapol. It is very helpful b/c it will make the rinse process more efficient and quicker but it is not a deal breaker. You might try shampoo if you'll be rinsing by hand(crazy foamy in the washer though ) or maybe some woolite if you are rinsing in the washer. These are gentler on the silk than reg. laundrey soap(wh/ ussually has a higher Ph)

Anyways...have fun!
Oh as for hemming...if you don't want to drudge through hand hemming or fight with your sewing machine to hem by machine, you could seal the edges with fray stop. Well, if you have a serger, a rolled hem would be the easiest and quickest of all.

TTFN!

You can find Wilton's at any place that sells cake decorating supplies. At most Wal-Mart's you will find it in the crafting section not the baking section. They are in little tubs that are about an inch or two tall with white caps. Here ya go! You can also find it at Michael's, Jo-Ann's, Hobby Lobby, a local bakery that sells supplies, etc. Have fun!!
