The 'Worry' Hormone - Page 3

Ah, yes, the power of pee. There is some element of control when you can see before your very eyes that second line appear. Then what??? The waiting waiting waiting is interminable.

I keep trying to round up how far along I am. Since Sunday I've been telling myself I'm almost 9 weeks (although I was just 8 week the Friday before). There is some security in even the illusion of progress.

I have been sooooo worried, but never so worried as when I woke up spotting on Monday morning! I have never spotted with any of my three previous pregnancies . I went in for an ultrasound on Tuesday, I was so nervous.....but they found our little sweetie right away. The heart was beating away at 160 beats a minute, it measured perfect at 8 1/2 weeks and its little tiny head was even moving around. It was a great feeling!! The spotting has stopped and they could find no reason for it.

So glad that you were able to be reassured with an ultrasound. I am in the spotting camp as well but so far, everything looks great. My mw said that 30% of pregnancies have unexplained bleeding. For me, I have found taking it easy to help. I am 9 wks 6 days tomorrow and hope that I will soon be cleared to exercise and get back to my regular routine of go-go-go! I finding that this has been the longest first trimester ever!! It will be worth it once we all get to the 2nd tri.

Deep, peaceful, cleansing breaths, everyone!

I worried a lot with my first but seem to be completely lacking the worry hormone this time. I kind of think it is because so much went wrong with ds. At some point, I had to quit worrying. It just takes up so much effort. Maybe its hormonal, I don't know. I am one mellow mama this time though.

I seem to be the opposite. I had lots of problems (that turned out to be nothing) when I was pg with my dd. Now even time I have a cramp or a twinge, I start freaking out. I don't see my ob til 1/25. I think I'll feel better after that. I guess I feel like maybe I used up my good luck with dd and maybe something will go wrong this time. Irrational, yes, but I'm pg so I guess that what happens, lol.

I am starting to feel a little better and less worried. I went to the midwives office for my nurse visit and blood draw. My hormone levels came back great! And on the 18th they want to do an ultrasound to date it since I have such long and irregular periods from my thyroid. They will also retest my thyroid then to stay on top of it. And I am starting to feel a bit more m/s which is comforting.

2 in August- I hope your worry decreases soon too.

Thanks for the good wishes. I think it will after I have my first appt and hear the heartbeat, etc. Right now, I just feel sick and tired and worried.
