My dog was put down today...

hi all... i hope its ok to psot this here. my dog was put down today. we rushed her to the vet yesterday shock & seizing. She was such a beautiful 130 lb great dane & 8 yrs old. She was the best dog . We found out she went into complete liver/kidney failure, contracted valley fever wich casue a brain & spinal leision which caused her seizures & paralized her. Their was not a good outlook for her except alot of pain. Great danes average 7-9 yrs full life term so at 8 she lived a good life. She was so healthy until this. My kids are so sad.... i'm so sad... i just needed to share my loss. as a single mom my friends & online groups are my saviors...

please send positive thoughts that she is taken in to her afterlife with open arms. she was an amazing dog.

Hugs to you & your children. It is so difficult to lose a pet, especially when people don't understand your grief. Maybe you can do something to help the process...write down a favorite memory you each had, put a scrapbook of photos together, something that each of you can participate in.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your wonderful great dane. It's so hard to have to put an animal down. to your and your kids. I know how hard it is to lose a pet.
