Feeling awful

I am feeling so sick. Nausea all the time, my gag reflex has turned super sensitive (as it always does when I'm pg), and I have a nasty after-taste in my mouth all the time (again, another thing that happens when I'm pg). The gag reflex and nasty taste do nothing to help with the nausea!

I'm trying to eat enough to combat the nausea (how awful is it to have to eat when you're feeling sick?), started taking B6 to help, and got some ginger capsules.

I know this is a sign of a healthy pg, but that doesn't make me feel any better (even though it gives me comfort about the babe). Pregnancy just doesn't agree with me.

On top of that, almost everything smells bad to me. The best smell in the whole world, that of bread baking, smells terrible to me. I can't stand to smell bread toasting (but thankfully I can actually eat the toast because it smells okay once the cooking part is over). Going to the grocery store is a test in how long I can not breathe through my nose.

I thoroughly do not enjoy this part of pg. Hopefully it will start to ease off in about 3 weeks for me. (So happy to be pg, just not liking how it feels right now.)

Anyone else want to complain too?

I hear Ya! I had been doing ok till three days ago when I started cooking with garlic....wow, all of the sudden it all kicked in and I spent an hour dry heaving...now I have it in constant waves every minute of the day! The smell of almost everything is horrible!!!! I just went out and got extra baking soda to put in my fridge because I can't even open it without feeling like I am going to throw up!!! My poor dog...I can't even have her near me..yuck! I have had this with all my pregnancies...a little less with my two boys...a little more like this with my daughter, which is making me think maybe this is a girl! Unfortunely for me this usually lasts till about week 15 for me...so I still have about 8 more weeks of this...my biggest fear always is that it is never going to go away!!! Right now I am just hoping I can get through the holiday parties without throwing up all over my family..lol!!!!

So sorry that you're feeling crummy. I hate being pregnant myself even thought it's worth it in the end. At least it will be over soon. Good luck to ya

I'm right there with you, Jen. I have never felt so terrible. I'm sick and practically bedridden all day long. I'm just so thankful that DH is a SAHD, because I don't know what I would do without him. He's getting burned out, though.

Yes, everything smells terrible, the only time I feel halfway decent is when I'm eating. I have pretty severe lower back pain and I get up off the couch as if I were already 9 months PG!! I can't sneeze without round ligament pain and I burp all day long. This is NOT fun and I feel like there's no end in sight...

Real ginger ale isn't helping much, but DH has gone out to get a morning sickness remedy that I'm hoping will afford a little relief. I just want to be able to sit up and play some quiet games with my girls and do a few dishes and laundry to give DH a break. I'm dreading going back to school... I'll be so thankful when this trimester is over!

Count me in too. This continual nausea didn't kick in this early with my last one (I don't remember the others - they were just too long ago). Maybe it has something to do with my HCG levels being so high (over 45K at 6w1d). I don't know, but it sucks. I was really hoping to make it through the holidays before I started feeling like crap. Maybe this means I'll be feeling much better by the time school starts for me again.

And WHAT is with the horrible taste in the mouth?? I've had it with every one of my pregnancies (3) and this one is no exception. Yuck!

Sounds just like me! The nausea is manageable if I eat often, but that crappy feeling after...indigestion, heartburn and that horrible after taste....YUCK. I try everything to get rid of it, but nothing helps. And the gag reflux...I've never experienced that before with my other 4 pg's! I gag ALLLLLL the time, lol! Luckily I've never actually vomited.

I'll be glad when the 2nd trimester hits!
