I just got home from my midwife's office. I won't be getting my ultrasound til the 3rd. I guess my uterus is too big and I know I'm right on about my due date. My midwife thinks I'm having twins.

Congrats!

Wow! This is exactly how things went with my sil when she had my twin nephews. How wonderful for you! They were not able to determine the sex of both boys until much later than usual due to the position of the babies, and she had to deliver by c-section. But what a blessing! Two for one! Congrats!

Ohh, how exciting for you! Although I think if it was me, I might just lose it - my just be 24 months when this one is born and I am already wondering how we are going to make it. With you ds being 7 that might be PERFECT! 6 hand for 2 little babes!

I am excited and a little scared. I'm very anxious to find out for sure. Having twins would definately put a kink in my birth plans because I was hoping for a vbac and possibly a waterbirth. With multiples, I think I'd most likely deliver in the OR whether vaginally or c-section. I have a whole bunch of research to do now.

Robyn,
I had the same thing last time but I held out to see if I'd measure larger for a few months running (which I didn't) so no twins for me (yet). It would be fun wouldn't it?

Wow! Twins! Wouldn't that be fun.....my dd wants a sister and when I told her what if we had a brother - she said we could have 2 babies....um...NO THANKS! One at a time for me :-)

You must be going crazy waiting for your appointment!! I hope everything works out as you'd like it to. Mamas of twins always get s from me!

Ohh I hope you get what you want! Yay what an exciting time for you! Don't they know your DDB is waiting to know what's going on so your u/s should be sooner? haha

Just popping in from December EDD, because I've had similar large uterus measurements. It's interesting that your MW is already saying twins. It's pretty common for second/third/plus time moms to measure with a large uterus in the 1st trimester. It usually doesn't mean possible twins until the numbers are growing exponentially in the 2nd trimester. The uterus is just larger from bearing a child before.

Hope you get what you want of course! Just letting you know this is VERY VERY common with singletons of second plus pregnancies. I think it's also a bit concerning that your MW thinks you're having twins just based on this.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy pregnancy!

The funny thing is, the appt. is on dh's birthday. He's a little overwhelmed at the thought but, what a birthday present!

I'm not worried, she was just surprised that it was so large, I saw someone different last week and they commented on it too. It does make me feel better because my pants are really uncomfortable around the middle and at least I know it's not just fat. I think twins would be really cool but I'm not getting my hopes up.(too high)
