Special needle for elastic?

I am a beginner sewer. I am getting ready to start sewing cloth diapers. I thought I read somewhere that you needed a special needle to sew elastic. A ballpoint something. I don't remember the size or where I read it! Is this needed or will the needle on my machine do? Thanks!!

Some materials suggest that you use a ballpoint needle. I use a universal 14 on everything and it works. I would stick with the needle on your machine. Although if you have not changed it in awhile you may need to do so. Sharp needles make all the difference!!!

I usually use a ballpoint 14 due to the other materials I'm sewing (PUL and other knits). Never even thought about the elastic. So whatever you use for knits and such should work fine.
