Belly in the way?

Anyone else's "package" starting to get in the way? I am having to turn sideways at the sink to do dishes (I remember this from last time too), but it's getting to be a real pain when I have to carry my toddler. Eek!

I guess I did not expect this so early...am only 25 weeks. (Or 26? I have lost count. )

I was just going to post that I have to do dishes sideways already. I remember it too and it's such a pain. I have to remember to alternate sides because it can wreck my back.

I do dishes on the couch. As in, I lay on the couch and dh does the dishes .

But I do have trouble getting out of the car in tight parking spots. And reaching some things at work. The belly is getting scary big. One of my patients asked yesterday if I would be having the baby before the new year for the tax deduction. I am not THAT big!

Noticed it a bit when out shopping on Friday and Saturday, that I couldn't squeeze through aisles behind people anymore.

DH does the dishes here too, so that's not a problem. However, when I bend over to pick up laundry I notice I feel a little queasy if I squish the bump too much.

My belly only seems to get in my way when I need to squeeze through tight spaces, sex, and shaving. Can't see anything below anymore. {{{sigh}}} Honestly it does seem too early for that.

I noticed that its starting to get more awkward to trim my toenails already : Of course part of the problem is round ligament pain when I try to get into one of the normal toenail cutting positions Once my broken toe heals (another joy of pregnancy- clumsiness : ) I think I may head of to get a pedicure!

I'm now also too big to trim the hair on my, umm, naughty bits.

Have to have dh do that.

For the first-timers here. A word of advice from a postpartum nurse. Don't shave down there. If you have to have any stitches they will itch even worse when the hair grows back. But do get a little trim. You will pass clots and bleed a lot after birth and it is much easier to stay fresh feeling and clean if your hair is short.

I definitely am noticing that I bump into things more now. I've been pregnant for so long now (pregnant or nursing since July 1998) that it feels like normal for me. I just hope THIS time I get to bring a healthy baby home after all this...

Recently when I'm sitting at the table and the table is touching/pressing on my belly, the baby will kick HARD and I have to scoot my chair out. I think it's really funny. It happened at breakfast on Dec. 24, I had been bumping against the stove fixing blueberry pancakes, and apparently baby had enough of it because as soon as I sat down at the table WHAM! I got the message loud and clear.

Putting on my shoes has become a bit more of a challenge! Especially the lovely new boots my dear sister sent me from Germany.... Hadn't thought about how difficult lacing them up would be! I'm always huffing and puffing by the time I'm done - you'd think that I'd just run a marathon or something!

Hahah. I know exactly what you're talking about. I was horrified a few days ago to realise that I can't keep myself properly maintained. LOL I can't see what I'm supposed to be shaving.

As far as doing my toenails... well it was quite interesting Saturday trying to paint my toenails. I had to do yoga lunges with one leg in front and the other in back in order to get my hands near my toes. Hehe. I've learned to buckle straps on my shoes too by wrapping my foot out to the side, kinda like a frog hop.

It's amazing what you can figure out if you take the time. Still the shaving... maybe I'll have to go to a professional or just let myself go.

The shoe thing - I only wear slip on shoes when pg. Problem solved!

I have a hard time carrying ds2 now. I also cant see to shave very well! My dh is remodeling our shower and he put in a huge mirror in the shower and i can see with that! It also is a bit uncomfortable to tie my shoes.

Oh...the maintenance down below.. I actually looked today, and WOW!!!! I need a trim.

Shaving my legs was an entertaining exercise today.

I never shave anywhere above my thighs, anyways.

But lately I've had this dry skin/rash all over my legs, and irritation in my armpits. I really AM turning into an "unshaven hippie" because I don't DARE irritate my poor skin by trying to shave it. DH isn't thrilled, but it's not HIS skin that itches so bad it feels like it's on fire.

I just this group...nice to have a group of such *real* ladies! It's great to be pg in the winter b/c my shaving tends to be restricted then anyhow. I always say I need the extra fur to keep me warm Poor dh, but after 6 winters together I think he knows what to expect.

As for bump in the way in general - I can't slouch or it makes the shortness of breath worse, putting pants, socks and shoes on is challenging and I *definitely* can't squeeze through tight spaces anymore It's weird not knowing my body boundaries anymore but I guess that's to be expected when they change on a weekly basis!

It's starting to get harder for me to reach behind me--like my body doesn't stretch as easily as it used to. I'm just starting to notice my belly getting in the way a bit, but i'm not sticking out too much that it's a problem yet--unless i'm trying to scoot around a curved restaurant booth--then forget it!

Mine, too! I tried to scrub the tub last week and it just didn't work DH had to do it for me! I can't bend over as well. And its funny because I realy don't look all that pregnant and everyone comments on how small I'm carrying this time. But its must be there because I can sure feel it!

Mine's been in the way for a while now. We moved from a bump to a package to a ball to a....baby, or in my case, babies. I look like I did at full term and the weight of the babies together is just about as much as DS when he was born. Zoikes. I think it's going to be a looooonnnngggg three months.

I don't notice mine getting in the way too much, except bending over, my poor 4 year old is always getting asked "can you pick that up for mommy", lol. Also I have a 17 month old and live upstairs, thats a chore, one trip and I am ready for a nap, lol. It gets in my 17 month old sons way though, lol. When he tries to lay on me he will sit up and "knead" my belly. I just tell him baby, and he keeps doing it. I am having another boy and they already "fight", lol. Baby kicks my son all the time.
