I made a Bluejean AIO

Well, with my run so far with PUL, I have little hope that this will actually turn out to be an AIO BUT, heres how i made it. I had some old jeans that didn't fit me after dd was born so I finally talked myself into cutting them up and making diapers. Inner layer body is 2 layers of double nap flannel, soaker is scraps of an old baby sleeping bag(makes very absorbent, cotton filling) and a layer of wool on the bottom, then hidden layer of pul then the layer of denim. I don't have a serger so I finished all the edges with zigzag stitch, so my stitching isn't the greatest. You can see in the picture my sewing machine is VERY old but my DM got it at an auction for $2.00 beczuse it was missing the bobbin case (she had tons of those). Its been well worth its $2.00, I've sewn many diapers with it. Anyway, guess I'll show this one off and let ya'll know in a day or 2 how it works after I've washed it in hot water and dried it.
ps: drafted my own pattern for this diaper, the tabs are WAY too big, I know. Good thing i have LOTS of wrapping paper left over. LOL

That's really cute! Good job!

And I hear those old machines are workhorses, I know I look for them at garage sales!

It wicked worse than the others. NONE of my so called "AIO"S work!

I wouldn't be so frustrated if they hadn't worked the first time after I washed them but now they are all wicking after 1 pee! UGH.

Bummer! I've heard that you can use different types of thread to reduce the wicking, and foe also helps. I guess it's bc the perforations in the pul are covered by the elastic so it reduces the wicking. At least that's what I think. Ladies, any opinions on my hypotyhesis?
