I will read it if someone posts a link to his site, otherwise I don't bother.

When I first started researching vaccines I looked him over but no longer need his expert opinion.

ah, to be all-knowing

Oh no, I didn't mean it like that!

I meant his "expert" opinion isn't always what I have come to believe in.

After a while we all form our own opinions, I guess.:

Do you have a link? It sounds like a pretty common name so I don't want to google it and possibly get spyware or malware from bad websites. TYIA

He doesn't write most of what's on his site. He often posts articles from other sources with his take at the bottom. I'm not always sure he reads them throughly, and it sure doesn't all come together in a cohesive world-view. But, he often has gathered information on a topic in one place. I like to bounce between Mercola and QuackWatch.Org for a healthy dose of "what the other side thinks". I also like to listen to Sean Hannity and Al Franken speak on the same topic, just for a better understanding as well.

He and Leonard Horowitz are about as "trustworthy" as each other.

DITTO to what most have said. Some good info, but his presentation leaves much lacking, imo. I don't automatically dismiss what he says just 'cause HE said it, but I take it with a grain or two of salt and often find his conclusions a bit radical and simplistic (and that is saying something, given my rather "radical" views on such things, LOL!)

Yes, that's what I was trying to put together in my brain. I read some of his stuff and say, "Yeah, that's what I thought." But then I read other stuff and go "Oooooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkkkaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy!?!?!? !?"

Well, crap, now I have to go find out who Leonard Horowitz is. :

Is the the Dr. David Williams referred to: http://www.drdavidwilliams.com/ ?

And the Weston A. Price Foundation will need to be googled. So much to do, so little time to do it.

Mercola.com has its flaws but it's a vast collection of medical information which can be useful as a starting point imo. BMJ is a much better way to go but it has too much mainstream stuff to sort out before you get to what you need. Dr. Dave Williams is ok but like Mercola and Horowitz he's out there to make a buck so in his newsletter he'll try to sell stuff too. The Weston Price foundation is less comercialized but it also has drawbacks to it. However I have friends who have been successfully applying the native nutrition concepts of the WPF (like bone broth for mineral intake etc.) to improve their healths so I'm in the process of trying the stuff myself. I still skim through mercola's newsletter with lukewarm curiosity but I've been much more interested in onibasu.com for good information lately...

I agree with the PP, a lot of his ideas are great, but often I find his views a bit far fetched and to be taken with a huge grain of salt!!!

I don't think you really need to know who Dr Leonard Horowitz is. Unless you want to discover that you just need to eat slightly less salt when reading Mercola than when reading Horowitz...

I have started doing research on the Weston Price website and on the outset it looks great, confirms what I have been saying about nurtrition all along. I firmly belive that we can get all the nutrition we need from eating the correct natural (organic) foods and do not need all kinds of supplements if we stick to this. It is very difficult in SA though as organic meat is virtually unheard of (at least where we are). :

I like people who have the gall to get out there and say what they really believe to be true, esp if backed by research. Some people might call this "alarmist." What I love is that he pulls out research and other articles and comments on them. What I hate is that he is increasingly selling things. But his stuff is easy to read for my patients, so I too use it as a jumping off point often.

I used to like it but the more I read the more I hated it. I finally un-subbed to his damn email list that is just one sales pitch after another.

I've found several inaccuracies on his website and I don't use his site to back up anything. However, I certainly respect his opinions . . . he has the b*lls to put it out there.
