Need fish recipes for picky preschooler

My son used to love fish, now he will barely touch it, does anyone have some yummy recipes that your kids love? I think he gets tired of the same ol' baked salmon, and I'm just not that creative these days about cooking. Thanks!

Herb Baked fish

1 lb. fish-halibut, cod, tuna, orange roughy, etc.
1 T. butter
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. marjoram
1/2 tsp. thyme
1 small bay leaf
1/2 onion sliced in rings or crescents
1/2-3/4 cup cream or milk
350 degree oven
Place fish in baking dish
Sprinkle on seasonings
Arrange onion on top
Pour in cream or milk
Bake about 40 min. for frozen fish & 20 min. for fresh fish(depending on thickness of fillets)
Serve with lemon wedges & tartar/cocktail sauce if desired
This is our family favorite! So simple! You can even wrap in foil & cook it outdoors on the grill.

This is one of our favourites and big hit with toddler:
Halibut "fish and chips"
In a bowl, combine 1/2 cup mayo, 1 tbsp.Dijon mustard, 2 tsp. lemon juice and some garlic powder if desired.
In a second bowl, mix together 100 grs crushed plain potato chips (we buy organic no salt kettle chips, they're good, but anything would work, just crush them with a pin roller until they are reduced to small crumbs) and 1 cup panko (panko is some sort of japanese bread crumbs that you can get at a japanese grocery, or substitute with coarse breadcrumbs from fresh white bread, crust removed, and let sit until dry - do not use commercial bread crumbs that are finely ground)
You will need about 4-6 halibut filets.
Dip halibut filets into the mayo mixture then dredge in the potato chip mixture, coat well.
Place coated fish in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 mins at 350°F, or until the crust is golden brown.
Enjoy.

100 grs. it's 100 grams.... it's like 1/3 of a regular size bag or 1/2 of a small bag.

Well, down here in Fish land, people make fish 'fingers' much like the chicken counterpart.

Fish noodle soup instead of chicken
Fish baked, seperated into tiny pieces and put into an omelet or quiche

or in just about any dish that would call for tuna or chicken like noodle casseroles and pasta dishes.

Yammer - butter -

Ahi and shiitake mushrooms and garlic sizzled in the pan with lots of butter. Big hit. (Well, he didn't eat the mushrooms, but he ate the fish.)

my kiddos really like these tuna cakes different spices can be used and they can also be shaped into "sticks" so the kiddos can dip them in yogurt tarter sauce.

My DH made some white fish, poached

He used chick stock to poach some fish. We served with veggies and potatoes.

The vegetables were cooked with mushrooms first simmered in ghee. Yum.

The fish was then dabbed with olive oil and a bit of lemon. DD likes to drink lemons / suck lemon juice. Go figure.

princess buttercup - that sounds good! I'll have to try those. He does like tuna, and some variety would be nice. I was thinking of trying crab cakes but crab is so expensive and I don't know if he would even like it. Tuna cakes, never thought of that.

tessamami - eli likes to suck lemons too! good idea, with fish.

FIL is an avid fisherman, so I have a glut of fish to do things with. This summer we had fish every other night--I am NOT kidding.
Here was the favorite. Sorry, I don't measure
Start with about a pound or so of fish. Either cook it or save leftovers. I use salmon or steelhead.
Mix the fish with your hands until it is well shredded and bone free. Add about half as much mashed potatoes and one egg.
Sprinkle in parsley, dill, a clove or two of garlic and some onion powder. Salt and pepper to taste and the juice of 1 lemon. More if you really like lemon. Crush up some cracker crumbs and put in a large plate. Make small patties or any other shape. Roll in the cracker crumbs. Fry in a bit of oil until golden on each side. Or form into balls and deep fry.
These are great with some lemon juice or tartar sauce!

spicy chocolate salmon

Its a spice rub. Just rub it into the flesh and then bake until done at about 350 degrees. We use a rotisserie

1/4 cup sugar
1 t dry mustard
dash of cinnamon
1 T paprika
1 t cocoa
1/4 T chili powder
2 t fresh ground black pepper
1 1/2 T kosher or coarse ground salt

Its the best fish recipe I've ever had. In fact we are eating it tonight

Wow! I never would have thought of putting cocoa and fish together, but I think we will be trying it soon! YUM!
