Did I get hit by a truck?!

I don't know what's wrong with me today. I literally feel like I've been hit by a truck. I thought at first I might be getting sick, but the only thing wrong is I have no energy. Everything I try to do absolutely exhaust me. I took 2, 3hr. naps today (thanks to dh) and I'm already exhausted again.
You moms who are due now, have you been feeling this way too? Im not talking about fatigue, but completely worn out. I wonder if maybe my body is worn out from this pregnancy. I surely can't deliver like this. What's wrong with me? I've never been like this before unless I had the flu really bad.

Do you think you could be anemic? I got anemic at the end of my last pregnancy and whew!! I felt awful!!
I hope you are able to rest up a bit and feel better soon!

Rest rest rest! Sometimes that exhausted feeling precedes a cold. Stay down! But also trust your body. You CAN deliver, no matter what, and your body will pick the right time to do its work. Good luck!

I agree with Peggy, it sounds like you could be anemic. I was feeling the exact same way last week. I would sleep, wake up for a few minutes, and then just sleep some more. I ended up going into the hospital due to pre-term labor, and a blood test showed I was extremely anemic. I had to have two blood transfusions. After I got the new blood, I felt so much better! I was awake again. Unfortunately, my next blood test showed that my hemoglobin hadn't actually risen that much (over 12 is normal, and after the blood mine was 10). I am starting to feel that totally worn out feeling again. I suppose they will just give me more blood when I go in to DELIVER these little iron-suckers. The CNM at the hospital said that sometimes your body just stops being able to absorb iron very well at the end. Plus the amount of blood in your body is drastically increased, and your baby is just sucking all that it needs right out of it.

Anyway, if I were you I would have a blood test done to check iron levels because being anemic before you give birth will only result in being more anemic afterwards. Anemia can really interfere with your milk supply. Plus, you'll want to be awake to enjoy that little baby!

Goood luck!
