update: My Water Broke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Update at new entry at bottom.

I've been having a lot of "discharge" this morning to the point were I could feel it squirt out. Also had to run to the bathroom a few times which is unusual for me. And feeling slightly nauseated. I just started putting it all together when all of a sudden water started running out and on to the kitchen floor!

I thought I'd go at least 40 weeks if not 42 like last time! My dd due in Dec 22 came on Jan 5! Now this one due Jan 18 will most likely come in Dec, or maybe a New Year's baby!

My husband cancelled my dd's bday party. It was scheduled for New Year's Day at Camp Snoopy, Mall of America. We will reschedule.

I'm not ready, my house is filthy and we need to go grocery shopping! I'm in shock! No contractions yet though. My midwives have came and went, they are coming back later tonight. They said labor would most likely start within the next 24 to 48 hours. Unfortunately, the baby has slipped back into a LOP position. They said to immediately get in the knees-chest position and stay there for 40 minutes - yuck!!!!!

At least I have all the items on my list of things I was supposed to have for the birth, yeah!

THe baby is really active!

~Tracy
P.S. I bet the birth beads come today - I still have time to string them together!

So exciting!!

Happy labor.

Tracy, great news!! I hope your labor goes wonderfully and don't worry about all of that stuff that needs to be done. My house is perfectly clean and I am feeling annoyed because it keeps getting dirty again before the baby comes. I will be sending positive vibes your way and will be excited to hear about your baby when it's born.

I've only had 2 contractions but they were barely noticeable - just like the braxton hicks though.

Lots of gushes of water though!

I can't stay in the knees-chest position!

Tara - I must be doing it wrong! Can you give me any tips on the knee-chest position? So I kneel down then TRY to put my chest on the floor.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. You get on hands and knees, like you are making your back into a table. Spread your knees a little so that your belly will hang between them and put your chest down as far as you can. You can rest your head on your arms. Even if you don't spread your legs intentionally, they will naturally spread from your belly being there. Your back will will be straight, it might curve in a little but it shouldn't much. I can sleep like that. It shouldn't hurt to be in that position (I mean, obviously contractions will no matter what but your body itself shouldn't)

Well a few more contractions but nothing too painful. My back is now killing me from trying to scrub out my bathtub. Didn't quite get all of it.

continuing to leak copious amounts of fluid.

One of the midwives came again and has left. She said the baby sounds perfect.

My water broke around 8:30 am on Thurs. Today is 12:35 on Sunday - I still haven't delivered this baby.

I have been on the breast pump for 3 days. I can barely muster up one ctx a minute.

Probably will end up in the hospital on pitocin.

I am at a 9 with an 8 lip, baby head is so low practically visible. But need ctx to even be able to push.

Thanks for the update...I've been checking the boards often, wondering when we'd hear from you. I can't imagine being that close and not being able to push--especially after this long.
Way to hang in there!
I'm sending lots of strong and steady contraction thoughts your way!
