hey mamas just checking in while babe's sleeping. Nice to see more UC mamas coming around! And I can't to hear the upcoming birth stories!
starting to get perspective here on my relationship with dp, and moving forward with good changes on my part, and hopefully on his part too. Gosh the first 6 months are tough!! And we're at 4.5 here.

Anyway, nice to "see" everyone!

Welcome Muskokan and Starfairy! So embarassed I totally missed your posts.

Muskokan, you are getting REAL close now. How are ya feeling?

Starfairly ooh a summer baby, if only sweden wasn't so cool in the summers (to me anyway) except for the 2 weeks of summer-like weather we get... I'd go and have an outdoor birth if I was due in the summer.

So welcome mamas!

I've been having contractions on and off since Jan 8th and I had some pretty good "false labour" the night of the 16th, just officially hit 37 weeks today so this little one can come any time now.. I'm really looking forward to UCing.

[FONT=Arial] well, she vacummed the basement and is teaching the 4 and up batch to cross-stitch so who am I to complain

didn't even say a word about the cloth diapers I insist on, oh and she shoveled the snow for us as well.

lucky lucky me

Can you send her my way please, Carrie?

DH just took ds out to a playhouse for a bit (too cold outside to play) so I have a couple of hours to myself... I just vacuumed and I may even dust! Then I may walk to the store nearby and treat myself to something tasty.. mmmm...

It feels SO weird to not have ds with me... just ... weird. I almost feel lost. Guess it should happen more often so I get used to it, eh? Let them have some father and son bonding time. *giggle*

I am starting to feel that nesting hit me, but it's hard sometimes to do. Hopefully I can declutter something before they get back, like the kitchen. (bathrooms and playroom is done, so almost half the apartment...)

She came out!!

I had my lady friday night!!

yes at home, yes UC, born 4 hrs after my water began leaking.

Adelle Grace 8lbs 1/2 oz and 20 1/2 inches.

she's a lovely little thing I wish I knew how to shre photos with you all.

It was my most difficult labor, had a retained placenta as well. I tried it ALL to get it out and was ready to give up and go to bed and forget it, when dh reminded me that we DID have a mw and why not? so she came over and talked me through removing it. I have to say I was being a bit of a baby by then. But I'd rather her try some gentle traction then a transfer. She didn't need to do any traction, just help me focus to bring it out. This was about 2hrs after the birth and with no contractions despite nuring, nipple stim and all else. I even twiddled my fundus! There's a first time for everything I guess and I imagine it was due simply to my extreme exhaustion.

We're dancing now that she's here, and refer to her as the "babyball" due to how scrunchy she is

The other children haven't quit dancing. First they get grandma here for weeks on end, now a new sister to kiss.

only my ribs are sore, though i've had to carry around my gigantic belly over my arm. Simply hoping I still have a little elasticity left in my skin after all I've asked it to do!!

I hope everyone else is settling in well or has more patience then I did those last days.

PS dispoable diapers have their uses! I wore them after my water broke and then again after birth (with a normal pad) so I didn't stain my favorite pristine white sheets. I thought i'd have some extra bleeding due to the retained placenta, but I'm already barely having any flow at all. Still, those Huggies we got for my 1yo were more useful then I thought they would be!

Jumping in!

Hello all. I just found out I am pregnant. Planning a UC as of now. I may UP, I may not, though.

Congrats Carrie!

Welcome Emily

Thank you! Just a warning, I am going to be asking a lot of questions over the next 8 months! UC is something I am passionate about, but I am also doing it because there are no homebirth midwives who will travel to my area. The midwife I used for my daughter's birth now works for the local hospital.

so much going on!

So Sydney and I are both suffering from a nasty cold. She had diharrea for about 3 days and finally is coming around.
Now, I took her in to see our GP. Who checked me out, too.
found blood in my urine, high ketones and lucocites, protein and bloodsugar was 108. (after a cup of sugar-laden coffee)
So they're sending my urine out for analysis to see if I have a UTI or some other infection. Then...she says...
"If no UTI, you need to see an OB. Something is happening. Its the right thing to do." :
I had her check me out because of my thyroid and iron levels- which right now are fantastic.
She then asks a nurse to check my bloodpressure...sure sign of some problem right?
110/72
couldn't be more perfect.
All is well, but but but
what can I do about the blood in urine? and protein? Uggh...
off to research...

lots of love
