How to find Recycled PUL *** Pics Added Readable Tag

Ok for the polyurethane, just look at the coats tag, just like your doing... actually mostly theyre light jackets.. the one coat i found was huge and my nephew loved it so i gave it to him. All the others I've found have been childrens coats. They are slick and shiney most of them and the tags will say right inside polyurthane, also, the polyurethane is heavier than the PUL you buy online, its even heavier than the 2 mil but still breatheable. The covers link below shows you what they look like already made into covers. Also, when looking for the coats dont' mistake polyvinyl for polyurethane its not the same. Look in the childrens sections (not infant or toddler) unless youre planning on making nb or premie covers. I can get 1 cover out of the back piece of a jacket of a childs size 8-10, sometimes it cuts into the arms but you'll easily figure out how to lay the jacket to make it work to cut the cover out. Sometimes I unsew the jacket to give me more to work with but lately I havent and its much quicker and they turn out just the same. I don't pay over $4.00 for a coat made out of pul but thats just my budget. It wouldn't make much sense to pay over that to me when you can get PUL for $6.95 / yard. Granted... the pul on coats is heavier so it won';t look or feel like the PUL you get online! OH and after you find your first polyurethane coat itll be easier to know what you're looking for. HTH ladies, feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to answer them. Happy Day!

Ok ladies here is a picture of the tag of one of the coats I used to make a cover, I think it's readable just a little blurry. Also ther is a pic of the inside of the polyurethane material. It doesn't look anything LIKE the PUL yo uget online and its a bit heavier. HTH

The tag reads Shell: 100% Polyurethane with 100% polyester backing
Lining: 100% Polyester

Now not all my coats have had the polyester lining but ALL have had the polyurethane w/ polyester backing. So far I"ve found 5 jackets this way. I hope this helps.

Yeah, that was a bummer. But at least I know what the tags should say.

Sorry mama's those pics are long since gone. I posted them way back in 2005. If you've ever felt the "pul" that you buy online 1 mil and 2 mil, this is not what it will feel like on a coat or a jacket. It will be much thicker and may be more or less shiney. Also, the pul you get online is only laminated on one side, the coats with the polyurethane is both sides . HTH. I haven't posted here in forever and just happened to come across this post lol.
