Okay, so I am due any minute so if I am being grouchy or self-serving...be kind!
My oldest friend and godmother two my first two kids just emailed me saying she wasn't sure if she could make it to my Blessingway because she would have been partying the night before.
I told her it was a spiritual ceremony, blessing mother and birth location, so if she wasn't "sure" yet, then I was counting her out of the list of attendees.
I feel like it is an honor to be invited to such a ceremony.
She also added, though, that she wanted to be at the birth (I guess she could hold off a hangover for that one) if she could and wanted to cut the cord. Uh...no! That is a lot to ask out of the blue IMO. It also makes the birth sound like a spectator thing. No way!
I feel self righteous right now and like I will not be having her at either of these holy events. Anybody see what I see or am I overly hormonal? I think this friend and I are definitely on different paths now. But she knows better. she has five nieces and nephews and my two older kids are her god children...duh!
