Anyone use Motivated Moms? - Page 5

I downloaded it but haven't been using it. This thread is inspiring me to get back to it.

Would it sound really horrible

....if I said some of this stuff has never even occured to me? Geez no wonder my house looks so bad. Then again I was raised with a housekeeper and now I dont' have one.

*sigh* beginning to feel like something is wrong with me, 'cause I can't seem to keep up with this system either...and I am really trying!
Yeah - I'm a pretty UN motivated mom today. Frankly I don't think I've ever done everything on the list, EVER, but the stuff I do helps. Every little bit counts.

I'm not going to admit which ones, and I didn't grow up with a housekeeper, but definitely some of this stuff was like, uh okay..........THAT'S interesting.

I am thinking about mm so I'll read along for a little while during my procrastination

Wow, you guys TOTALLY got me! I'm ordering it right now. The owners of the service must be wondering what the heck is going on with the sudden influx of orders

I've been thinking about getting this forever...and kept telling myself that "heck, I could just make that little planner". Of course, did I ever make it? No. So tonight I bought it and I can't WAIT to start using it and checking things off. I need a kick in the pants and this is it. Yay!
I downloaded it a few weeks ago but I have not been doing so well...um, which means I haven't been doing it at all. :

I think I need something more than a planner...like, maybe some Ritalin ...

Anyway, it is still on my fridge, and hopefully next week I can make a fresh start and begin checking things off daily.

I think part of my problem is that since I know I'll *never* get everything checked off every day, I have trouble prioritizing what to work on. Obviously I end up doing *some* of the tasks, but no more than I was doing before MM. So I'm trying to figure out how I can make this system work for me without becoming totally perfectionistic with it and burning out 4 days in...

Subscribing! Last night DH was into his "you're not doing FlyLady" rant : It worked fine with 1 child, but now where is there time in the day to all of the other stuff? So, since I do like a lot of FlyLady, I think I'll give MM a try and just use some of the FlyLady stuff too. (I'd already modified it quite a bit anyway)

Never heard of MM until today! I downloaded the list and it looks great. I love making lists and crossing this off

Yeah, that was me too. I came across Motivated Moms last year and thought "Oh, I'll just make my own." Er, never did. In fact I forgot all about it until this thread. :
IMHO, it was well worth the $7 to buy it and just print it out.

And could I use any more smilies in this thread?? <<<< Oops, just did!! LOL!

Well we've been at it for 3 days

and I have to say the house is looking a little better. I mean some things have gotten wiped/cleaned that have never been really cleaned before. We've only been in this section of the house for about 6months and I do have it housecleaned twice a year, but I bet those cleaning people are going to think we've come down with something when they come in a couple weeks.

It's really helping dp not feel so overwhelmed with the little lists I leave every day (that he pretty much ignored) he's excited he can mark it off and then I can't say anything when it's all crossed off. We're both happy with the results. Hopefully you ladies will keep this thread going and I'll keep remembering to put new ones on the fridge

I've been using MM's

for a few weeks. What helped my old eyes was to highlight Monday, Wednesday and Friday on the daily part of the page. Otherwise all those little boxes ran together and I couldn't see anything. Not doing much on the lists but it is nice to know that there is something for me to do if I want to.

Count me in! I started yesterday. I definitely feel satisfied crossing things off of lists! We'll see how it goes. I can relate to the pp who said some of the things are things I wouldn't even think to do! It's nice to think everything will eventually get done, even though I don't know when because I haven't looked ahead yet! Good luck everyone, I hope this thread stays alive too.

How's everyone doing this week?

How is this going for everyone this week? DP Cleaned the toilets. I couldn't believe he actually would follow this that well.

Okay, downloading it now!

It's going well for me too. We fell off the wagon for a few weeks and noticed again what a huge difference it makes to not have something like this to follow. I don't always get everything done on any given day but I like the feeling of at least accomplishing something and not having to decide what that "something" will be when I wake up in the morning. I'm not constantly thinking - when was this floor mopped/toilet cleaned/room dusted - because I know that the list is keeping things regularly cleaned.

And sometimes I do things on different days than they are listed and some days I just don't do things but the most important thing I've learned is to simply keep trucking ahead. If I were to move everything I didn't do one day to the next day on top of all that was already on that day I would get completely and utterly bogged down. So if the kitchen misses getting mopped because I had a particularly busy day it'll happen next week and in the mean time we'll survive.

So how does everyone else do it? Do you do the every day stuff first or do you do the day specific stuff first? I never seem to get most of it done. I'm starting to get a little depressed about it
post #98 of 140
I do as much as a can when I can. If I miss one of the daily chores one day, I try to pick it up the next. I often wind up doing the special tasks on a different day. I figure whatever I get done is better than nothing. Some days/weeks are great. Others...not so much. Be kind to yourself & do your best.

I'm a flunkie. Been doing stuff but haven't been checking their list. I need to get back to it!

I am still liking it after a few weeks. I like that there is not much listed on the weeknd. Saturday is a big cleaning day for me, so it gives me a chance to check off all the things i missed during the week. I am sure not the point, but works for me. A lot of the daily tasks don't get done everyday, but I aim for at least 4 times a week for most of them.

And I totally don't remember when the dishwasher door was cleaned before mm
