Cleaning up vomit

How can I get the vomit smell out of the sofa? Ramona has the stomach flu ...

What kind of upholstery do you have? For most fabrics, I swear by BacOut (enzymey type cleaner, eats away the source of the smell). When my boy barfed all over the car, I cleaned up with this stuff and couldn't smell it the next day.

Sorry about the stomach flu... That's the worst.

My favorite method is clean up the mess with water. Then put down a layer of baking soda. I usually cover that with a big towel or two. Then put the sick one back on the couch on top of the towels. At the end of the day or sickness I will vaccume up all the baking soda.

Works for rugs and mattresses as well. The smell is always gone.

Thanks! I usually do the baking soda thing, too. Just wondered whether there were other methods out there. I did try the Bac-out thing after tara suggested it. I had actually fogotten that I had a bottle of Bac-out that I bought two years ago to clean up dog vomit.
