She's Here!!

This will be short... but I am finally home from my totally not perfect birth experience! However, the perfect lil' darlin of a daughter I brought home with me makes me forget the 7 days of intense contractions, water breaking, being only dialated to ONE cm... the pitocin after 15 hours of no progress after water, the epidural cause I just couldn't take it anymore, the c-section because no matter how hard the ctx were I just wasn't movin on up very easily... I think I'd still be in labor without the c-sec! None of it was as bad as I thought it would be... well, the labor was worse.. but the interventions - I cried so hard about the pitocin
But since i was stuck with such a crap labor... I feel lucky that nursing is going AWESOME!!! milk isn't in yet.. but this babe loves to suck so hopefully it will be in by tomorrow! She was born 1/1/06 at 7:47 am... Gwen Olivia Ryan is welcomed to our world.. and our love for her is already SOOOOOOOOOOOOO incredible!!!!

Thanks everyone!! It is the absolute best feeling in the world to be a momma!!! I love her sooooooooooo very much!
Ya know.. I didn't get anywhere near the birth that I wanted... but I think keeping an open mind through the pregnancy helped.. I don't feel horribly let down or sad about it. I'm glad she's here and safe!! I had an awesome pregnancy so if I need to dwell on something, I'll dwell on that!
How do you know when your milk comes in?? There is a real difference in what's coming out now.. but I don't feel engorged or any type of let down happening.. Her poop is changing though and she has plenty of wet and poopy dipes, so I'm not too worried.. but want to take any measures needed to make sure my body does it's job and gives my baby lots of momma milk!!

AWESOME! Yes, if she's having wet diapers & her poop has changed over she's getting milk. There are so many wise mama's that can help you over on the Breastfeeding boards...It's hard to say about letdown, I never could figure that out... and I never became engorged, either... but I'm still nursing a healthy 28mo!

So happy for you! Over on the TTC board, some of the Nursing mamas were talking about taking certain months off so the birth wouldn't be at an inconvenient time & I thought of you immediately! Glad she waited til New Years! Many Blessings! Kelly
